snap-o-tweaksInspect, stream, and explicitly adjust live Android UI tweak values or invoke app-owned actions through Snap-O.
Snap O Tweaks is an agent skill from openai/snap-o, published by the product's own GitHub organization. Inspect, stream, and explicitly adjust live Android UI tweak values or invoke app-owned actions through Snap-O. Use when a request mentions Snap-O Tweaks, tweak-enabled Android apps, runtime UI parameters, Compose tweak or action controls, tweak discovery, previously adjusted or currently inactive tweaks, applying all user-made tweak changes, typed values, defaults or resets, tweak batches, explicitly registered actions, the Tweaks REST/SSE API, or selecting between CLI, macOS tool, in-app overlay, and custom…
Its SKILL.md is about 1.7k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 7 other files, including scripts and reference files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`, `references/interaction-surfaces.md` and `references/protocol.md`).
It sits in Mobile, covering Android development. It works with macOS and Android. The repository describes itself as: Lightweight Android capture developer tools for macOS. The licence is Apache-2.0.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 64d41f2. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 1 file in scripts/, which the agent can run.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Snap O Tweaks loads about 1.7k tokens when it runs, and up to ~6.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 137 tokens; SKILL.md has 732 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
The full file from openai/snap-o at commit 64d41f2, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© openai). 732 words, ~1,740 tokens.

This skill also uses 4 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Inspect live values and app-owned actions exposed by a debug-enabled Android app. Discovery, reads, and streams are read-only; change or reset values, or invoke an action, only when explicitly requested. Reset everything only when explicitly requested.
snapo-tweaks CLI; it requires only Python 3 and Android Platform Tools on macOS or Linux.SnapOTweakOverlay.Read references/interaction-surfaces.md for desktop, overlay, release/no-op, and custom-interface integration.
Use the executable bundled with this skill:
scripts/snapo-tweaksResolve this path relative to the directory containing this SKILL.md, not the current working directory. Call the resolved path $SNAPO_BIN; if it is absent, the skill installation is incomplete.
ADB resolves from PATH, ANDROID_SDK_ROOT, or ANDROID_HOME. Use --adb <path> or SNAPO_ADB to override it; pass --adb-host <host> and --adb-port <port> together for a remote ADB server.
Listings use ADB process and package information without contacting the app. JSON rows contain pid, processName, and packageName; unresolved identity fields are null. Friendly app labels and icons are not loaded.
Discover running tweak-enabled apps:
"$SNAPO_BIN" apps --jsonSelect the device and, when multiple app sockets exist, the app socket:
"$SNAPO_BIN" list -s <serial> -n <socket> --json
"$SNAPO_BIN" get 'Typography/Font size' -s <serial> -n <socket> --jsonSelect devices with -s <serial>, -d (USB), or -e (emulator). Use -n <socket> for every subcommand except apps when selection is ambiguous.
Include ordinary or app-owned tweaks the user has adjusted, even when their declarations are not currently in composition:
"$SNAPO_BIN" list --all -s <serial> -n <socket> --json
"$SNAPO_BIN" get 'Typography/Font size' --all -s <serial> -n <socket> --jsonThe expanded list combines current tweaks and actions with retained snapshots of previously adjusted ordinary or app-owned tweaks. App-owned history preserves the effective value and modification status, not the source, callbacks, or observers. Use "modified": true to identify outstanding changes; a missing field always means false, even when value differs from default. Actions never include modified. Separate screens can reuse tweak names with different declarations; preserve every descriptor from list --all instead of deduplicating by name. get NAME --all reports an error when multiple declarations match; use list --all --json to inspect them. Historical tweaks can be inspected while inactive, but can only be changed or reset when their declaration is active. Actions are active-only.
Observe live complete snapshots:
"$SNAPO_BIN" watch -s <serial> -n <socket> --json
"$SNAPO_BIN" watch -s <serial> -n <socket> --once --json--once exits after the first complete snapshot. --json emits newline-delimited JSON; list and watch emit complete tweak and action snapshots. Event streams contain only currently active declarations; use list --all for historical value adjustments.
Inspect the descriptor first: the CLI parses int, float, boolean, color, string, enum, and bezier according to their declared types. Enum descriptors include an ordered list of enum names in options; use an exact option name when setting one. Quote names containing spaces or /, string values containing spaces, and hex colors.
"$SNAPO_BIN" set 'Typography/Font size' 42 -s <serial> -n <socket>
"$SNAPO_BIN" set 'Motion/Show' false -s <serial> -n <socket>
"$SNAPO_BIN" set 'Colors/Accent' '#3B82F6' -s <serial> -n <socket>
"$SNAPO_BIN" set 'Appearance/Theme' Dark -s <serial> -n <socket>Successful updates and resets produce no output.
Reset only the explicitly requested value, or use --all only when the user explicitly requests resetting every modified tweak:
"$SNAPO_BIN" reset 'Typography/Font size' -s <serial> -n <socket>
"$SNAPO_BIN" reset --all -s <serial> -n <socket>Apps declare actions with the TweakAction(name) { ... } composable, imported from com.openai.snapo.tweaks.TweakAction. The declaration returns Unit, registers its callback only while the owner remains in composition, and does not execute the callback during composition. Actions have "type":"action", no value, and no default. Invoke an action only when the user explicitly requests its app-defined behavior:
"$SNAPO_BIN" action 'Preview/Refresh visible content' -s <serial> -n <socket>The action command sends the registered name exactly as provided and does not accept arguments or execute arbitrary code. A descriptor marked "conflicted":true has multiple live owners and cannot be invoked; report the server's conflict and ask the app owner to register the shared action once or choose explicit, stable, unique names. Do not deduplicate callbacks or invent numeric suffixes. Reset-all ignores actions.
Tweaks use app-local snapo_tweaks_<pid> sockets and normally exist only in debug-enabled apps. If no socket appears, check device authorization and selection, whether the app is running, its live Tweaks dependency/integration, debug/runtime policy, and server startup. If a socket exists but /tweaks is empty, the current Compose UI has no active tweak declarations; list --all can still return retained adjustments. Adjustment history lasts only for the current Android app process. Do not enable release servers or modify apps or dependencies without an explicit request. Preserve validation errors; the CLI cleans up its own temporary ADB forwards.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Snap O Tweaks is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Python 3.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Snap O Tweaks is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 4.9k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
