RuView Hardware Setup
ruvnet/RuView
Brings a RuView CSI sensing node online by building ESP32-S3 or ESP32-C6 firmware, flashing the board, provisioning WiFi and checking the serial output.
Walks a user through putting an AI Desk Card e-ink device on home Wi-Fi so frames arrive in about 0.2 seconds instead of the 32 seconds USB takes.

card-wifi-setupWalks a user through putting an AI Desk Card e-ink device on home Wi-Fi so frames arrive in about 0.2 seconds instead of the 32 seconds USB takes.
The skill takes the user's Wi-Fi name and password, writes them once to the device's NVS storage through the local daemon, and lets the device join the network and advertise over mDNS. After the daemon restarts and finds it, frames are pushed over Wi-Fi in about 0.2 seconds rather than USB's 32. It assumes the device already talks to the daemon over USB serial or a paired BLE link and that the daemon is running; otherwise the card-onboard flow comes first. Before asking, the agent states that the password stays local and is not written to logs or git or uploaded.
The steps are: collect the SSID, correcting an answer that looks like a MAC address; run the plugin's wifi_setup.sh script with the SSID quoted; wait 15 to 20 seconds and confirm through a probe script or the daemon log that the device connected and reported an IP; then run card-stop and card-start so the daemon rescans mDNS and switches transport. A status table covers SSID not found, authentication failure and DHCP failure. The most common cause is a dual-band router, since the ESP32 cannot use 5GHz and needs a 2.4GHz network. Routers defaulting to WPA3 may need mixed WPA2/WPA3 mode if connections keep failing.
4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

AI Desk Card Wi-Fi Setup loads about 680 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 89 tokens; SKILL.md has 226 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: Bash, AskUserQuestionAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 226 words (~680 tokens).
“把 SSID + 密码喂到设备 NVS,设备自动连,daemon 通过 mDNS 发现 → 后续推帧 0.2 秒到位。”

AI Desk Card Wi-Fi Setup fits situations like: moving an AI Desk Card from USB to wireless frame updates; A user asks how to connect the card to their home Wi-Fi; diagnosing a device that stays at wifi_connected false; switching the daemon to the Wi-Fi transport after provisioning.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, AI Desk Card Wi-Fi Setup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (bash). Our summary lists: An AI Desk Card device the daemon can reach over USB serial or BLE; The AI Desk Card daemon running; A 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash, AskUserQuestion.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
AI Desk Card Wi-Fi Setup has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 680 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
