cross-platform-distributionA skill your agent uses when an approved campaign, launch, research finding, or asset needs a deliberate plan across several social channels.
Cross Platform Distribution is an agent skill from Ootto-AI/claude-content-skills. Use when an approved campaign, launch, research finding, or asset needs a deliberate plan across several social channels. Trigger phrases include "adapt this for LinkedIn and X", "where should this campaign go?", "make a distribution plan", "repurpose this without duplicating it", and "what is each platform's role?". Do not use this to invent a campaign strategy, bulk-post identical copy, or schedule a calendar; use campaign-brief for the strategic source, content-repurposer for asset transformations, and…
Its SKILL.md is about 830 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Writing & Content, covering Content repurposing and Content strategy. It works with LinkedIn. The repository describes itself as: Free, copy-paste Claude skills that run your content growth factory — turn ideas + your NotebookLM memory into scroll-stopping Instagram reels. By Ootto. The licence is MIT.
4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 5263be7. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Cross Platform Distribution loads about 831 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 142 tokens; SKILL.md has 384 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from Ootto-AI/claude-content-skills at commit 5263be7, republished under its MIT licence (© Ootto-AI). 384 words, ~831 tokens.
.claude/skills/cross-platform-distribution/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Give one approved message different jobs across channels so distribution increases useful reach without turning into noisy duplication.
Ask for the approved campaign brief or source asset, its audience, claim boundary, action, timing, and available formats. If the message is not approved, stop and route to campaign-brief or positioning-audit. Do not turn an untested idea into a distribution plan.
For every proposed channel, state the audience context, what that channel should contribute, the format it can support, and the action it should earn. A channel may educate, create discussion, provide proof, reach partners, or send qualified traffic. Exclude channels with no clear role rather than filling a grid.
Translate the same approved point into channel-native openings, structure, visual requirements, and conversation prompts. Keep the claim, proof, and action consistent. Note what cannot move across: private examples, unsupported performance claims, or assets with rights limited to another platform.
Order releases so early posts can inform later ones without waiting for a false certainty. Specify cadence, owner, links or UTMs where applicable, and the measurement that each channel is meant to influence. End with the decision that determines whether to extend, revise, or stop distribution.
| Failure | Do this instead |
|---|---|
| One asset becomes five duplicate posts | Give each channel a distinct audience job and angle. |
| Format is chosen before audience context | Start with the role, then choose the smallest suitable format. |
| A weak post is endlessly republished | Set a review point and change the message or stop based on evidence. |
| Links cannot be attributed | Create an approved UTM plan before publishing trackable links. |
Use campaign-brief before this skill. Use linkedin-thought-leadership and x-thread-strategy for channel-specific execution, content-repurposer for asset changes, and content-calendar for the publishing schedule. Use social-analytics-report and launch-retrospective to assess the plan afterwards.
