open-flowCreate, inspect, edit, check, run, and publish persistent Open Flow workflows through an existing Server, or assess and convert n8n workflows to Open Flow.
Open Flow is an agent skill from oomol-lab/open-flow. Create, inspect, edit, check, run, and publish persistent Open Flow workflows through an existing Server, or assess and convert n8n workflows to Open Flow. Use for workflow operations, not changes to the Open Flow implementation.
Its SKILL.md is about 410 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 3 other files, including reference files (for example `references/flow-authoring.md` and `references/flow-n8n-conversion.md`).
It sits in Productivity & Automation, covering Workflow automation. It works with n8n, Docker, React and JavaScript. The repository describes itself as: Build workflows you can see, code, run, and own. Open-source visual workflow automation with real TypeScript, isolated execution, and a self-hosted Control API. The licence is Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 43c06a3. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
bunFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
OPEN_FLOW_TOKENFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Open Flow loads about 411 tokens when it runs, and up to ~8.1k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 60 tokens; SKILL.md has 174 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
`.env`. If the local Server has not been started, report that prerequisite.Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Run commands from this repository's root. The development CLI connects to the
existing local Server by default, using OPEN_FLOW_PORT (default 3001) and
OPEN_FLOW_TOKEN, or the token generated by bun run dev. It reads the root
.env. If the local Server has not been started, report that prerequisite.
Do not start or reconfigure a Server merely to perform a Flow operation.
To select another Server, the user must provide both OPEN_FLOW_URL and
OPEN_FLOW_TOKEN in the environment. Never read, print, or copy credential files
into prompts or command arguments. Connector and LLM configuration stay on the
Server; do not duplicate them in the CLI.
<!-- agentic:endif -->
Keep the requested boundary: editing a Draft does not authorize a Run, publication, or enabling automatic execution. Report the resulting Flow and Revision, verification result, and any unresolved configuration.

Run `npx skills add oomol-lab/open-flow --skill open-flow -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/open-flow/skills/open-flow in oomol-lab/open-flow) into .claude/skills/open-flow in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add oomol-lab/open-flow --skill open-flow -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/open-flow/skills/open-flow in oomol-lab/open-flow) into .agents/skills/open-flow in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add oomol-lab/open-flow --skill open-flow -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/open-flow, .gemini/skills/open-flow, .github/skills/open-flow and .opencode/skills/open-flow in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Open Flow needs the command-line tools its instructions call (bun) and credentials named OPEN_FLOW_TOKEN. Our summary lists: A credential in OPEN_FLOW_TOKEN.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Open Flow is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 411 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 7.7k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
