What it does

Pack Release is an agent skill from niltor/DeepSeekSDK-NET. Update this repository's NuGet package version and release notes, then prepare the changes for merge into main so CI can publish the release.

Its SKILL.md is about 490 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development, covering Changelog and release notes. It works with DeepSeek and ASP.NET Core. The repository describes itself as: DeepSeek API SDK for .NET developer. The licence is MIT.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit eae3e1d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Pack Release loads about 491 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 39 tokens; SKILL.md has 231 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~39
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~491

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Bump version and release through main

NuGet Pack and Release

Use this skill when the user asks to pack or release a new version. Read the root AGENTS.md first. The release operation has two steps; restore, test, pack, and NuGet publication are handled automatically by CI after the change reaches main.

Package facts

Update both publishable projects together:

ProjectPackage IDVersion field
src/DeepSeek.Core/DeepSeek.Core.csprojAter.DeepSeek.Core<Version>
src/DeepSeek.AspNetCore/DeepSeek.AspNetCore.csprojAter.DeepSeek.AspNetCore<Version>

The current package version is 1.6.0. Unless the user explicitly supplies a version, increment the SemVer patch number by one (1.6.0 → 1.6.1). Keep the two <Version> values identical and do not add a leading v. Update PackageReleaseNotes in both projects to describe the release.

Do not change Core's explicit AssemblyVersion/FileVersion (0.1.0.0) during an ordinary NuGet release. Git tags are not the version source and do not trigger publication; existing tags use both vX.Y.Z and X.Y.Z forms.

Two-step release

  1. Set the package version and release notes. Inspect both .csproj files, preserve unrelated user changes, choose the explicitly requested version or increment the current patch number, then update <Version> and PackageReleaseNotes in both files.

  2. Merge the changes into main. Commit the synchronized project-file changes through the normal review process, merge/push them to main, create a tag named exactly after the new version (without a v prefix), push the tag, and finally check out dev after the merge. The tag is a version marker; it does not trigger CI.

Update this repository's NuGet package version and release notes, then prepare the changes for merge into main so CI can publish the release.

When should I use Pack Release?

Pack Release fits situations like: tasks that involve Changelog and release notes.

How do I install Pack Release in Claude Code?

Run `npx skills add niltor/DeepSeekSDK-NET --skill pack-release -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/pack-release in niltor/DeepSeekSDK-NET) into .claude/skills/pack-release in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

How do I install Pack Release in Codex?

Run `npx skills add niltor/DeepSeekSDK-NET --skill pack-release -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/pack-release in niltor/DeepSeekSDK-NET) into .agents/skills/pack-release in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.

Can I use Pack Release in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add niltor/DeepSeekSDK-NET --skill pack-release -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/pack-release, .gemini/skills/pack-release, .github/skills/pack-release and .opencode/skills/pack-release in your project.

What does Pack Release need to run?

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Pack Release is instructions for the agent only.

Does Pack Release access the network?

SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is Pack Release safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does Pack Release use?

Pack Release is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does Pack Release use?

About 491 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.

What are the alternatives to Pack Release?

Skills that share tags, products or a category with Pack Release: Release Prep (finch-xu/cc-router, 270 stars), Release Notes (ccch1mneyyy/dsh-TUI, 4.1k stars), Simple English (moeru-ai/airi, 50k stars) and StarRocks Release Notes (StarRocks/starrocks, 12k stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
