codex-slides-browserCompatibility entry point for opening and operating Codex Slides in Codex's in-editor Browser, including scenario selection, Design Files, brand systems, decks, and Play mode.
Codex Slides Browser is an agent skill from nexu-io/codex-slides. Compatibility entry point for opening and operating Codex Slides in Codex's in-editor Browser, including scenario selection, Design Files, brand systems, decks, and Play mode. Use when the user asks to open, launch, preview, view, play, inspect, or directly manipulate Codex Slides or a deck without leaving Codex.
Its SKILL.md is about 690 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`).
It sits in Documents & Office, covering Slides and decks and Design systems. It works with Microsoft PowerPoint. The repository describes itself as: 🎨 Open-source AI slide studio inside Codex: image-native decks, every slide a full visual canvas. ⚡ 10+ high-quality slides in ~4–5 minutes — Fast mode renders every page in… The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit dbc2a59. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

Codex Slides Browser loads about 685 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 84 tokens; SKILL.md has 324 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

this skill directory. Pass projectId when the user named a deck;
otherwise omit it for the create workspace.
Use view:"scenarios" for the 24-workflow catalog,
view:"design-files" plus projectId and optional filePath for project
files, or view:"brand-system" plus projectId for the brand editor.browserHandoff.url exactly so slide, panel, version, mode,
checkpoint, conversation, and run focus are preserved.start_project / CLI start-project only if UI submission needs a
deterministic fallback, then navigate its project resource immediately.Long Deck Agent, outline, and render operations can continue after navigation.
Use start_project_run, retain its runId, and use get_project_run,
wait_project_run, or cancel_project_run without closing the Browser.
Use the Browser for scenario/slot selection, @ Design File references, brand
system editing, Play from the current slide or the beginning, dual-window
presenter mode, speaker notes editing/AI generation, slide navigation, direct on-canvas
marking, layout inspection, and other visual interactions. If the Browser
capability is unavailable in the current Codex surface, return the resource
link and explain that limitation rather than claiming it opened.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add nexu-io/codex-slides --skill codex-slides-browser -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Codex Slides Browser needs the command-line tools its instructions call (node).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

About 685 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
