lens-extension-development-ideasLens Extension Idea Menu is a skill in nevalla/lens-resource-map-extension (404 stars). Its SKILL.md is about 665 tokens. Licence: MIT.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit dde5980. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Lens Extension Idea Menu loads about 665 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 36 tokens; SKILL.md has 352 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/lens-extension-development-ideas/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Your job: present a short, curated menu of starter prompts the user could send next, grounded in the host build's actual extension surface and what this extension already contains.
Read ~/.k8slens/extensions/extension-development-instructions/README.md. This is the authoritative, host-generated description of the extension surface available in the current Lens build — it is regenerated on every Lens app load. If a capability is not in that file, do not propose a prompt for it.
Read the extension's name from package.json (and/or the containing directory). Treat the name as a hint about user intent — e.g. "kube-events-toast" suggests notifications + cluster events, "node-status-bar" suggests a status-bar item summarizing nodes. Bias the proposed prompts toward surfaces that match the hint when the connection is plausible. If the name is generic (e.g. "my-extension") or unclear, ignore it.
Scan the whole src/ directory recursively to understand what is already in place — which surfaces are already wired, what's been built beyond the scaffold's placeholder, and what's still untouched. Prefer prompts that move the current state forward rather than re-proposing work that's already done. If only the scaffold's placeholder is present, frame prompts as "replace the placeholder with …".
Produce 5–7 concrete prompt suggestions covering distinct surfaces actually documented in the instructions (e.g. status-bar items, top-bar items, commands, routes, preferences pages, notifications). Each suggestion is one sentence the user could literally paste back. Prefer prompts that align with the name-derived hint and the current source state.
Phrase every suggestion in plain product terms — what the extension does for the user, where it shows up, what it reacts to. Do not mention implementation details like injection tokens, injectables, MobX, observables, React hooks, DI containers, or any framework/library names. The user is describing a feature; the implementation is Claude's problem afterwards.
Good: "Add a status-bar item that shows the current cluster's node count." Bad: "Register a statusBarItemInjectionToken that observes a MobX computed of nodes."
Render the suggestions as a markdown bulleted list under the heading "Starter ideas for this extension". Do not run anything yet — wait for the user to pick one or type their own.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Lens Extension Idea Menu is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

About 665 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
