pp-netlifyEvery Netlify API endpoint, plus a local SQLite mirror of your whole account so you can search, diff, and audit across all sites at once — offline and agent-native.
Pp Netlify is an agent skill from mvanhorn/printing-press-library. Every Netlify API endpoint, plus a local SQLite mirror of your whole account so you can search, diff, and audit across all sites at once — offline and agent-native. Trigger phrases: list my netlify sites, check netlify deploys, search netlify form submissions, audit netlify dns, compare netlify env vars, use netlify, run netlify.
Its SKILL.md is about 4k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering REST APIs. It works with Netlify and SQLite. The repository describes itself as: Official library of CLIs generated by the CLI Printing Press. Endorsed, tested, and community-contributed. The licence is Apache-2.0.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 76de244. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadBashFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
goclaudenpxnetlifyFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npx and netlify, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
NETLIFY_AUTH_TOKENFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Pp Netlify loads about 4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 89 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,722 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: Read, BashAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from mvanhorn/printing-press-library at commit 76de244, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© mvanhorn). 1,722 words, ~3,996 tokens.

This skill drives the netlify-pp-cli binary. You must verify the CLI is installed before invoking any command from this skill. If it is missing, install it first:
$HOME/.local/bin on macOS/Linux and %LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\PrintingPress\bin on Windows:npx -y @mvanhorn/printing-press-library install netlify --cli-onlynetlify-pp-cli --version$PATH for the agent/runtime that will invoke this skill.If the npx install fails (no Node, offline, etc.), fall back to a direct Go install (requires Go 1.26.6 or newer). This installs into $GOPATH/bin (default $HOME/go/bin), so add that directory to $PATH instead:
go install github.com/mvanhorn/printing-press-library/library/cloud/netlify/cmd/netlify-pp-cli@latestIf --version reports "command not found" after install, the runtime cannot see the binary directory on $PATH. Do not proceed with skill commands until verification succeeds.
The official netlify-cli is stateless and per-site. netlify-pp-cli syncs your sites, deploys, DNS, env vars, and form submissions into a local database, then adds cross-site commands no other tool has: env-drift compares variables across sites, submissions search runs offline full-text search over every form, dns-audit flags dangling records, and overview shows the health of every site in one view.
Use this CLI when you manage more than one Netlify site and need account-wide answers: comparing env vars across sites, searching form submissions, auditing DNS, or reviewing recent deploys. It is also the right tool for agents that need structured JSON output and typed exit codes over the Netlify API.
Do not use this CLI for:
netlify dev — use the official netlify-cli for local development.These capabilities aren't available in any other tool for this API.
overview — One command shows build status, last deploy time, and form counts for every site in your account.
Reach for this to survey an entire account at once instead of paging through the dashboard per site.
netlify-pp-cli overview --json --select name,last_deploy,stateenv-drift — Finds env vars that exist on some sites but are missing or differ on others, across contexts.
Use before a release to catch a secret set on staging but missing on production.
netlify-pp-cli env-drift --jsondns-audit — Aggregates DNS records across all zones and flags records pointing at deleted sites and soon-expiring SNI certs.
Use to find dangling DNS after tearing down sites, in one pass over the whole account.
netlify-pp-cli dns-audit --jsonsubmissions search — Full-text search across every form submission from every site, offline.
Reach for this to find a specific contact/lead across all forms without clicking through the UI.
netlify-pp-cli submissions search "refund" --json --limit 20since — Shows deploys and builds across all sites within a time window (e.g. last 2h).
Reach for this to answer 'what shipped recently' across an account after an incident.
netlify-pp-cli since 2h --jsondeploy-diff — Compares two deploys of a site (state, commit, context, error) side by side from the local mirror.
Use to see exactly what changed between a working deploy and a broken one when hunting a regression.

netlify-pp-cli env-drift --json --select key,sites_missingLists variables set on some sites but missing on others so nothing ships half-configured.
netlify-pp-cli submissions search "acme corp" --json --select site_name,form_name,email,created_atOffline full-text search over every submission with only the fields an agent needs.
netlify-pp-cli since 4h --json --select site_name,state,commit_refShows every deploy across the account in the last four hours.
Run netlify-pp-cli auth setup for the URL and steps to obtain a token (add --launch to open the URL). Then store it:
netlify-pp-cli auth set-token YOUR_TOKEN_HEREOr set NETLIFY_AUTH_TOKEN as an environment variable.
Run netlify-pp-cli doctor to verify setup.
Add --agent to any command. Expands to: --json --compact --no-input --no-color --yes.
Pipeable — JSON on stdout, errors on stderr
Filterable — --select keeps a subset of fields. Dotted paths descend into nested structures; arrays traverse element-wise. Critical for keeping context small on verbose APIs:
netlify-pp-cli accounts get mock-value --agent --select id,name,statusPreviewable — --dry-run shows the request without sending
Offline-friendly — sync/search commands can use the local SQLite store when available
Non-interactive — never prompts, every input is a flag
Explicit retries — use --idempotent only when an already-existing create should count as success, and use --ignore-missing only when a missing delete target should count as success
Commands that read from the local store or the API wrap output in a provenance envelope:
{
"meta": {"source": "live" | "local", "synced_at": "...", "reason": "..."},
"results": <data>
}Parse .results for data and .meta.source to know whether it's live or local. A human-readable N results (live) summary is printed to stderr only when stdout is a terminal AND no machine-format flag (--json, --csv, --compact, --quiet, --plain, --select) is set — piped/agent consumers and explicit-format runs get pure JSON on stdout.
Agents should treat the CLI's path resolver as part of the runtime contract:
Use --home <dir> for one invocation, or set NETLIFY_HOME=<dir> to relocate all four path kinds under one root.
Use per-kind env vars only when a specific kind must diverge: NETLIFY_CONFIG_DIR, NETLIFY_DATA_DIR, NETLIFY_STATE_DIR, NETLIFY_CACHE_DIR.
Resolution order is per-kind env var, --home, NETLIFY_HOME, XDG (XDG_CONFIG_HOME, XDG_DATA_HOME, XDG_STATE_HOME, XDG_CACHE_HOME), then platform defaults.
config contains settings like config.toml and profiles. data contains credentials.toml, data.db, cookies, and auth sidecars. state contains persisted queries, jobs, and teach.log. cache contains regenerable HTTP/cache files.
Stored secrets live in credentials.toml under the data dir. Existing legacy config.toml secrets are read for compatibility and leave config.toml on the first auth write.
Run netlify-pp-cli doctor --fail-on warn to surface path and credential-location warnings. agent-context exposes a schema v4 paths block for agents that need the resolved dirs.
For MCP, pass relocation through the MCP host config. The MCP binary does not inherit CLI flags:
{
"mcpServers": {
"netlify": {
"command": "netlify-pp-mcp",
"env": {
"NETLIFY_HOME": "/srv/netlify"
}
}
}
}Fleet precedence: an inherited per-kind env var overrides an explicit --home for that kind. Use NETLIFY_HOME or per-kind vars as durable fleet levers, and use --home only for a single invocation. Relocation is not reversible by unsetting env vars; move files manually before clearing NETLIFY_HOME, or doctor will not find credentials left under the former root.
When you (or the agent) notice something off about this CLI, record it:
netlify-pp-cli feedback "the --since flag is inclusive but docs say exclusive"
netlify-pp-cli feedback --stdin < notes.txt
netlify-pp-cli feedback list --json --limit 10Entries are stored locally as feedback.jsonl under the resolved data dir. They are never POSTed unless NETLIFY_FEEDBACK_ENDPOINT is set AND either --send is passed or NETLIFY_FEEDBACK_AUTO_SEND=true. Default behavior is local-only.
Write what surprised you, not a bug report. Short, specific, one line: that is the part that compounds.
Every command accepts --deliver <sink>. The output goes to the named sink in addition to (or instead of) stdout, so agents can route command results without hand-piping. Three sinks are supported:
| Sink | Effect |
|---|---|
stdout | Default; write to stdout only |
file:<path> | Atomically write output to <path> (tmp + rename) |
webhook:<url> | POST the output body to the URL (application/json or application/x-ndjson when --compact) |
Unknown schemes are refused with a structured error naming the supported set. Webhook failures return non-zero and log the URL + HTTP status on stderr.
A profile is a saved set of flag values, reused across invocations. Use it when a scheduled agent calls the same command every run with the same configuration - HeyGen's "Beacon" pattern.
netlify-pp-cli profile save briefing --json
netlify-pp-cli --profile briefing accounts get mock-value
netlify-pp-cli profile list --json
netlify-pp-cli profile show briefing
netlify-pp-cli profile delete briefing --yesExplicit flags always win over profile values; profile values win over defaults. agent-context lists all available profiles under available_profiles so introspecting agents discover them at runtime.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Pp Netlify needs the command-line tools its instructions call (go, claude, npx and netlify) and credentials named NETLIFY_AUTH_TOKEN. Our summary lists: Node.js; A credential in NETLIFY_AUTH_TOKEN. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Bash.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npx, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Pp Netlify is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 16k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
