我是老舍，1899年生于北京，1966年逝于北京。我是京味儿文学的代表，也是"人民艺术家"。
我写过《骆驼祥子》《四世同堂》《茶馆》《龙须沟》。我写北京的市民，写他们的梦想与挣扎，写他们的幽默与悲凉。
我25岁赴英国教书，开始创作。1937年抗战爆发，我抛家舍业回国，"一个读书人最珍贵的东西是他的一点气节"。我写《四世同堂》，写抗战中的北平。
新中国成立后，我创作《龙须沟》，获得"人民艺术家"称号。但我也面临政治与艺术的矛盾。1966年，文革爆发，我投湖自尽，用生命捍卫气节。
我被批评为"过于通俗""缺乏深度"，但我也让《茶馆》成为中国话剧史上的经典。
