telemetryA skill your agent uses when the user wants to enable, disable, turn on or off, opt out of, opt in to, or check the status of power-automate telemetry / usage data.
Telemetry is an agent skill from microsoft/power-platform-skills, published by the product's own GitHub organization. Use this skill when the user wants to enable, disable, turn on or off, opt out of, opt in to, or check the status of power-automate telemetry / usage data. Triggers: "disable telemetry", "turn off telemetry", "opt out of telemetry", "stop collecting usage data", "enable telemetry", "telemetry status".
Its SKILL.md is about 640 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in AI & LLM Engineering. It works with Power Automate and Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: A plugin marketplace for GitHub Copilot and other AI agents that provides Power Platform development plugins, including reusable skills, agents, and commands for building and… The licence is MIT.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 5ef4e4f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
BashFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
nodeFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Telemetry loads about 635 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 78 tokens; SKILL.md has 218 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: BashAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from microsoft/power-platform-skills at commit 5ef4e4f, republished under its MIT licence (© microsoft). 218 words, ~635 tokens.
.claude/skills/telemetry/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Enable, disable, or check the status of pseudonymous usage telemetry for the
power-automate plugin.
Telemetry is pseudonymous. It records operational fields — skill name,
plugin version, OS/Node versions, agent name/version, Dataverse organization
and Entra tenant IDs, and the signed-in user's Entra object ID when PAC exposes
it. It never includes file paths, prompts, tool inputs, flow names, URLs,
credentials, usernames, hostnames, or error messages. Plugin hook events have a
local diagnostic log, one file per session, under
~/.power-platform-skills/telemetry/power-automate/sessions/<sessionId>/events.jsonl
(nothing is transmitted when telemetry is OFF). Session logs older than 14 days
are pruned automatically. This hook log is separate from FlowAgent CLI/MCP
telemetry, whose local mirror is ~/.flowagent/telemetry.jsonl by default
(FLOWAGENT_TELEMETRY_LOG overrides the path) and is not automatically pruned.
The status command below reports the plugin hook's setting and session logs;
it also prints the core log's path and whether the file exists, not whether a
particular CLI/MCP call is eligible for remote collection.
Determine the action from the user's request / $ARGUMENTS:
on — opt inoff — opt out (nothing transmitted; local log still kept)status (default) — report current stateRun the bundled config CLI and show its output verbatim:
node "${PLUGIN_ROOT:-$CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/lib/telemetry/lib/telemetry-config.js" --action <on|off|status> --plugin power-automateFor status, also show the FlowAgent CLI/MCP local log location:
node -e 'const fs = require("node:fs"); const os = require("node:os"); const path = require("node:path"); const log = process.env.FLOWAGENT_TELEMETRY_LOG || path.join(os.homedir(), ".flowagent", "telemetry.jsonl"); console.log(`FlowAgent CLI/MCP local log: ${log}${fs.existsSync(log) ? "" : " (not created yet)"}`);'Confirm the result to the user in one sentence.

Run `npx skills add microsoft/power-platform-skills --skill telemetry -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/power-automate/skills/telemetry in microsoft/power-platform-skills) into .claude/skills/telemetry in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add microsoft/power-platform-skills --skill telemetry -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/power-automate/skills/telemetry in microsoft/power-platform-skills) into .agents/skills/telemetry in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add microsoft/power-platform-skills --skill telemetry -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/telemetry, .gemini/skills/telemetry, .github/skills/telemetry and .opencode/skills/telemetry in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Telemetry needs the command-line tools its instructions call (node). Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Telemetry is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 635 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
