mcp-builderBuilds, modifies, debugs, migrates and verifies TypeScript MCP servers and MCP Apps with the mcp-use framework, treating the installed package's types as the source of truth.
The agent starts by inspecting `package.json`, the server entry, exported tool refs, `mcp-env.d.ts`, the `views/` and `skills/` folders and the installed `mcp-use` version. New projects are scaffolded with `create-mcp-use-app@latest`, matching the package version or dist-tag on beta, canary or versioned projects. It then reads only the references the task needs: server, views, authentication, skills over MCP, advanced features, migration and verification, and implements against the installed types rather than copied examples.
Core invariants cover imports (`mcp-use`, `mcp-use/react` and `mcp-use/oauth/*`), `inputSchema` for tool arguments and `outputSchema` for structured results and tools bound to a View. Tools return raw MCP result envelopes with matching `structuredContent`, or `isError: true` for expected failures, each View lives in its own folder under `views/` as `view.tsx`, and the server entry is the default export used by `mcp-use dev`, `build` and `start`. Verification runs the smallest real lifecycle first.

MCP Server Builder with mcp-use loads about 923 tokens when it runs, and up to ~6.2k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 58 tokens; SKILL.md has 432 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: MCP Server Builder with mcp-use is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: A TypeScript project with the `mcp-use` package installed.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
MCP Server Builder with mcp-use is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (from the LICENSE file in the skill folder). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 923 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 5.2k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
