What it does

Ops Status is an agent skill from Lifecycle-Innovations-Limited/claude-ops. OPS on-demand: This skill should be used when the user asks to "ops status", "/ops:ops-status", or "are…

Its SKILL.md is about 1.4k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

The repository describes itself as: Business operating system for Claude Code — 57 skills, 21 agents, smart daemon. Unified inbox (WhatsApp/Email/Slack/Telegram), autonomous PR merge, full-AWS monitoring, revenue… The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Asks to ops status
  • /ops:ops-status

Example prompts

  • “ops status”
  • “/ops:ops-status”
  • “/ops-status”

Requirements

  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Bash, Read, Glob, AskUserQuestion

Workflow steps

2 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Preferences: cat ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_DATA_DIR:-$HOME/.claude/plugins/data/ops-ops-marketplace}/preferences.json — determines which…
  2. Daemon health: cat ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_DATA_DIR}/daemon-health.json — tells the panel whether the daemon row should show ✓ running or ○ not…

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ee9c784. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

    Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Bash
    • Read
    • Glob
    • AskUserQuestion

    From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are json).

    From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

    From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

    Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

    From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Ops Status loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 29 tokens; SKILL.md has 394 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~29
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.4k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check: notes

The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.

  • NotePre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: Bash)SKILL.md
    allowed-tools: Bash, Read, Glob, AskUserQuestion

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

OPS ► STATUS

Load ops-rules before acting. Public repo (no personal data). Outbound: one draft → one approval → one send. If AskUserQuestion / Workflow are missing, follow Rule 10 in ops-rules (Hermes: numbered options / two-turn Telegram card; delegate_task).

Compact health panel for every configured integration. Much lighter than /ops:go — no gathering, no actions, no heavy API probes. Each row is tagged with ✓ (ok) / ○ (not configured) / ✗ (missing) / ─ (category unused).

Runtime Context

Before rendering, load:

  1. Preferences: cat ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_DATA_DIR:-$HOME/.claude/plugins/data/ops-ops-marketplace}/preferences.json — determines which integrations are configured
  2. Daemon health: cat ${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_DATA_DIR}/daemon-health.json — tells the panel whether the daemon row should show ✓ running or ○ not running

Both are consumed by the bin/ops-status script internally — this skill does not parse them itself.

CLI/API Reference

bin/ops-status
CommandUsageOutput
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/ops-statusRender the pretty text panelASCII panel with one row per category
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/ops-status --jsonMachine-readable outputFlat JSON: {clis, channels, mcps, commerce, voice, monitoring, daemon, registry, generated_at}

Each integration resolves to one of four status strings:

StatusMeaningRendered as
okInstalled / credentialed / running✓
not-configuredKnown slot, no credential recorded○
missingRequired but not resolvable✗
skippedUser explicitly opted out via /ops:setup○

The script is designed to run in under 1 second with no network calls.

What this skill does

  1. Run the status script and print its output verbatim:
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/ops-status $ARGUMENTS
  1. If $ARGUMENTS contains --json, pass it through — the script emits machine-readable JSON instead of the pretty panel.

  2. Do NOT probe any integration beyond what the script already did. Do NOT spawn a doctor / fix agent. Do NOT run API calls. If the user wants deeper checks, point them at:

    • /ops:doctor — full health check + auto-repair
    • /ops:go — full morning briefing with live data

When to use this vs other skills

If you want...Use
A quick "is everything connected?" glance/ops:status
The full morning briefing with real data/ops:go
Deep diagnostics + auto-repair/ops:doctor
An interactive dashboard with hotkeys/ops:dash

Integration with /ops:setup

/ops:setup (and its --re-setup flag) queries this skill for a per-section health map and uses it to filter the setup selector to only broken/unconfigured sections. The compact shape expected is:

json
{
  "telegram": "green",
  "whatsapp": "missing",
  "email": "red",
  "slack": "green"
}

Maintain this contract when extending the status output — the setup wizard keys on section names like telegram, whatsapp, email, slack, notion, calendar, doppler, vault, ecommerce, marketing, voice, revenue, discord, notifications, github, aws, sentry, linear. A --brief (or equivalent JSON) mode that returns this map is the recommended integration surface.
