prd-creatorSmart PRD generator. An agent skill from letehaha/moneymatter.
Prd Creator is an agent skill from letehaha/moneymatter. Smart PRD generator. Generates comprehensive technical PRDs optimized for task breakdown. Use when user requests "PRD", "product requirements", "regenerate existing PRD", or mentions task-driven development.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Product & Project Management, covering PRD writing. The repository describes itself as: A personal budget tracking application. Track your balances and transactions with bank connections or manual entry, categorize and analyze expenses and income, and many more. The licence is AGPL-3.0.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 581c922. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadWriteEditGrepGlobBashAskUserQuestionFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Prd Creator loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 55 tokens; SKILL.md has 568 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: Read, Write, Edit, Grep, Glob, Bash, AskUserQuestionAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from letehaha/moneymatter at commit 581c922, republished under its AGPL-3.0 licence (© letehaha). 568 words, ~1,069 tokens.
.claude/skills/prd-creator/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Primarily generates comprehensive, engineer-focused product requirements documents optimized for current project's codebase.
Activate when user:
Do NOT activate for:
Quality Over Speed: Planning is 95% of the work. Take time to create comprehensive PRDs that enable successful implementation.
Engineer-Focused: Primary audience is engineering teams.
Keep it short by default: Until user asks for a detailed information or breakdown, create a short and concrete structure with only important details.
Act as an engineer with a lot of experience in the finance or investing industry. Your suggestions should be based on the industry standards. You should not "assume" when providing an answer – any uncertancy should be clarified with the user.
Before creating any document, clarify with user anything that is not clear. For example, how edge cases should be handled, or do user needs some external features.
When asking user questions, prepare all questions right away, so user can see the scope of uncertancy, so he can provide answers to specific questions based on other questions.
By default create a short document with a good structure. By default only these sections should be added:
When user asks about new feature, suggest the implementation based on how other similar budget tracking or financial applications do that. When asking clarification questions, let user know how discussed functionality is implemented in other applications.
DO NOT include code examples or implementation details in the document, unless user specifically asks for it.
Try to use standards like ISO in your suggestions. If user asks for some data format or strucure, suggest him some widely-used format/structure in the industry first. Yet if you think customzations should be applied, suggest them as well.
If user asks to regenerate existing PDR, do it by following instructions of this skill. When removing some sections from the old file, ask user if he wants to keep them.
PRD Storage Location: All PRD files MUST be stored in docs/prds/ directory using kebab-case naming (e.g., ai-transaction-categorization.md).
User says: "I need a PRD for transaction bulk editing" Actions:
docs/prds/transaction-bulk-edit.md
Result: Concise PRD with Executive Summary, Problem Statement, Primary Goals, User Stories, and Functional RequirementsUser says: "Regenerate the investment portfolio PRD" Actions:
Cause: User didn't specify they want a short document Solution: Default to the short structure (5 sections). Only expand when user explicitly asks for detail.
Cause: Feature doesn't have clear parallels in existing financial apps Solution: Ask user for reference examples or competitor screenshots before generating.

Run `npx skills add letehaha/moneymatter --skill prd-creator -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/prd-creator in letehaha/moneymatter) into .claude/skills/prd-creator in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add letehaha/moneymatter --skill prd-creator -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/prd-creator in letehaha/moneymatter) into .agents/skills/prd-creator in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add letehaha/moneymatter --skill prd-creator -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/prd-creator, .gemini/skills/prd-creator, .github/skills/prd-creator and .opencode/skills/prd-creator in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Prd Creator is instructions for the agent only. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Write, Edit, Grep, Glob, Bash, AskUserQuestion.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Prd Creator is published under the AGPL-3.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
