Apple Web App is an agent skill from joe-bell/skills. Use when implementing, debugging, or auditing how any website or web app looks and behaves on iPhone and iPad — in Safari or added to the Home Screen — or added to the Mac Dock from Safari: safe areas, Safari's status bar and address bar tinting, full-screen overlays, theme colour, keyboard, manifest, icons, splash screens, or installed navigation. Not for service workers, offline caching, or push.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.6k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 14 other files, including reference files (for example `references/conformance-checklist.md`, `references/head-and-icons.md` and `references/install-ux.md`).
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering Caching. It works with macOS. The repository describes itself as: Skills for me (and you). The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 2eb6b5d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Apple Web App loads about 1.6k tokens when it runs, and up to ~29k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 104 tokens; SKILL.md has 546 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from joe-bell/skills at commit 2eb6b5d, republished under its MIT licence (© joe-bell). 546 words, ~1,608 tokens.

This skill also uses 13 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Use this skill to give any website or web app a good experience on iPhone and iPad, in Safari itself or installed to the Home Screen, and for macOS Safari Add to Dock UI. Service workers, offline caching, background sync and push implementation belong elsewhere.
Infer the platform, requested outcome and existing architecture from the task and project. Ask only when a missing detail materially changes the solution. Apply guidance relevant to that platform and symptom. Preserve working layout, authentication and product choices unless they cause the requested issue. User instructions take precedence over this skill's defaults.

A Mac-only task starts with the Mac reference. Do not generate iOS startup images or add iOS safe-area work for it. Source: WebKit; Joe Bell, as recorded in macos-add-to-dock.md.
Treat documented behavior, device observations, community workarounds and optional design preferences distinctly. Apply a version-specific workaround only when its symptom and environment match. A reported fix or bug status is historical evidence, not a guarantee for every later release. Read the cited source or recheck the target build when a changing fact determines the fix. Preserve existing test dates; do not relabel inherited findings as newly tested. Source provenance and retained observations: sources.md.
Use relevant entries from the conformance checklist. Check generated HTML, CSS, image dimensions and unauthenticated asset delivery where applicable. Device-specific appearance needs observation on the target installed app on a real device. Simulator or desktop emulation alone does not establish safe-area timing, status-bar sampling or splash selection. Source: Joe Bell, in sources.md.
When hardware or authenticated runtime access is unavailable, complete the independent checks and mark the remaining claims Unverified. State what was checked, what failed, and the specific remaining device check. Do not expand a focused fix into a full device matrix. Stop after the relevant checks pass unless a failure or new change warrants more verification.

Apple Web App fits situations like: auditing how any website; web app looks and behaves on iPhone and iPad — in Safari; added to the Home Screen —; added to the Mac Dock from Safari: safe areas.
Run `npx skills add joe-bell/skills --skill apple-web-app -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/apple-web-app in joe-bell/skills) into .claude/skills/apple-web-app in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add joe-bell/skills --skill apple-web-app -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Apple Web App is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Apple Web App is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 27k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
