What it does

Eisland Dev Generate Release Worklog is an agent skill from JNTMTMTM/eIsland. Generate a release announcement markdown for eIsland. Use this skill whenever the user asks to "generate release notes", "create announcement", "写更新日志", "生成发布公告", "draft release notes", or mentions preparing a new version release document.

Its SKILL.md is about 1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 4 other files, including reference files (for example `evals/evals.json` and `references/V26.5.13.md`).

It sits in Development, covering Changelog and release notes. The repository describes itself as: eIsland - A sleek, Apple Dynamic Island inspired floating widget for Windows, built with Electron. The licence is GPL-3.0.

When your agent uses it

  • The user asks to generate release notes
  • Create announcement
  • Draft release notes
  • Mentions preparing a new version release document

Example prompts

  • “generate release notes”
  • “create announcement”
  • “生成发布公告”
  • “/eisland-dev-generate-release-worklog”

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Gather parameters
  2. Collect recent git commits
  3. Read style reference
  4. Generate the announcement
  5. Format the output
  6. Write and commit

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 075561e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • git

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Eisland Dev Generate Release Worklog loads about 1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.2k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 69 tokens; SKILL.md has 391 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~69
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~2.2k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Generate Release Worklog

Generate a versioned release announcement markdown file for eIsland, following the project's established format and tone.

When to use

  • The user asks to generate release notes or an announcement for a new version
  • The user mentions "更新日志", "发布公告", "release notes", "announcement"
  • A release is being prepared and documentation is needed

Process

Step 1: Gather parameters

Confirm these values with the user (use defaults if not specified):

ParameterDescriptionDefault
versionVersion string (e.g., V26.5.14)Ask user
dateRelease date (YYYY-MM-DD)Today
sinceDateGit log start datePrevious version's date
Step 2: Collect recent git commits

Run in the eIsland project root:

bash
git log --oneline --since="<sinceDate>"

Also read docs/CHANGE_LOG.md (lines 1-50) for the latest released version context.

Group the commits by type prefix: feat, fix, refactor, test, docs, i18n, style, chore.

Step 3: Read style reference

Read the bundled reference file references/V26.5.13.md to extract the canonical format:

  1. The exact template structure (metadata blockquote, summary, sections, closing)
  2. The tone and phrasing patterns used in bullet items
  3. The section ordering convention (Chinese first, English second)

Also read the 2 most recent announcement files in docs/announcement/ for additional style context.

Step 4: Generate the announcement

Group commits into user-facing sections: 新功能, 体验优化, 问题修复, 文档更新. Only include sections that have items.

Rewrite each commit into a concise user-facing bullet point in Chinese:

  • One sentence per item
  • No internal implementation details (no class names, file paths, function names)
  • Focus on user-visible behavior changes and benefits
  • Match the tone of the style reference
Show full SKILL.md (143 more words)Show less
Step 5: Format the output

Generate the markdown with this exact structure:

> **Release Date:** *`<date>`* **GitHub Repository:** *`https://github.com/JNTMTMTM/eIsland`*

**<Chinese summary in bold>**

*<English summary in italic>*

## 新功能

- <Chinese bullet>

Format rules
  • No emoji anywhere
  • No # title at the top of the file
  • No --- divider anywhere
  • Sub-items use 2-space indent
  • No empty entries, no duplicates
  • Keep bullet items concise (one sentence each)
  • Chinese sections first, then English sections (grouped by language)
  • Each section heading uses only one language (no bilingual headings like ## 新功能 / New Features)
  • Metadata blockquote is a single line, English only, date and repo wrapped in italic backticks
  • Summary: Chinese in bold, English in italic
  • Chinese closing after the last Chinese section
  • English sections follow immediately after Chinese closing (no divider)
  • English closing at the very end
Step 6: Write and commit

Write the file to docs/announcement/<version>.md, then commit:

bash
git add docs/announcement/<version>.md
git commit -m "docs(announcement): add <version> release notes"

Output format

Return:

  • The output file path
  • The git commit hash
  • A brief summary of what was included (section counts)
