baoyu-post-to-wechatPublishes articles and image-text posts to a WeChat Official Account through the API or Chrome CDP, converting markdown to WeChat-ready HTML with link citations.
Two kinds of post are supported: articles from HTML, markdown or plain text, and image-text posts with several images. Markdown articles by default turn ordinary external links into bottom citations, which suits WeChat's formatting. Bundled TypeScript scripts handle each route: one posts image-text content through the browser, one posts articles through the browser, one posts articles through the API, and a converter produces WeChat-ready HTML with image placeholders.
Scripts run with Bun, falling back to npx -y bun. Preferences live in an EXTEND.md file looked up in the project, the XDG config folder and the home folder, in that order, and first-time setup runs when none exists. Minimum keys include a default author, whether comments are open, which defaults to on, and whether only fans may comment, which defaults to off.
When it needs answers from you, it prefers the runtime's built-in question tool and otherwise sends a numbered plain-text list. Replies follow your language, Chinese or English, with technical tokens kept in English. Reference notes cover API setup, article and image-text posting, multiple accounts and first-time configuration, and a permissions check script verifies the environment.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 1567581. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 12 files in scripts/ (TypeScript, from the files we listed), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
brewsshnpxnpmFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
api.weixin.qq.commp.weixin.qq.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
ACCESS_TOKENTELEGRAM_BOT_TOKENFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
WeChat Official Account Poster loads about 3.6k tokens when it runs, and up to ~8.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 106 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,296 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found patterns that need a careful read before installing.
# remote_publish_identity_file: ~/.ssh/id_ed25519# remote_publish_known_hosts_file: ~/.ssh/known_hostsetup in Step 2, or set in `.baoyu-skills/.env` |/api-setup.md` (writes to `.baoyu-skills/.env`).Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
The full file from JimLiu/baoyu-skills at commit 1567581, republished under its MIT licence (© JimLiu). 1,296 words, ~3,630 tokens.
.claude/skills/baoyu-post-to-wechat/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 28 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.When this skill prompts the user, follow this tool-selection rule (priority order):
AskUserQuestion, request_user_input, clarify, ask_user, or any equivalent.Concrete AskUserQuestion references below are examples — substitute the local equivalent in other runtimes.
Respond in the user's language. If they write in Chinese, reply in Chinese; if English, English. Keep technical tokens (paths, flags, field names) in English.
{baseDir} = this SKILL.md's directory. Resolve ${BUN_X}: prefer bun; else npx -y bun; else suggest brew install oven-sh/bun/bun.

Plain-text handling:
post-to-wechat/YYYY-MM-DD/<slug>.md (create directory if needed).Ask method unless specified in EXTEND.md or CLI:
| Method | Speed | Requires |
|---|---|---|
api (Recommended) | Fast | API credentials (local IP allowlisted) |
browser | Slow | Chrome + logged-in session |
remote-api | Fast | API credentials + an SSH-reachable server whose IP is on the WeChat allowlist |
API selected + missing credentials → run guided setup per references/api-setup.md (writes to .baoyu-skills/.env).
remote-api method: WeChat's "公众号设置 → IP 白名单" often limits API access to one or two fixed IPs. If your local machine's IP is not on that list but a cloud server's is, use remote-api: all markdown rendering, image processing, draft assembly, and HTML rewriting still happen locally, and only the outbound HTTPS calls to api.weixin.qq.com (token, uploadimg, add_material, draft/add) are tunneled through an SSH SOCKS5 dynamic port forward (ssh -N -D) so that WeChat sees the remote server as the source IP. No files are written to the remote host; AppSecret never leaves the local process. Requires only sshd and outbound network on the remote host — no Python, no agent process. See "Remote API Method" below.
--theme → EXTEND.md default_theme → default (first match wins; do NOT ask if resolved).--color → EXTEND.md default_color → omit (theme default applies).| Field | Missing → |

Auto-generation: title = first H1/H2 or first sentence; summary = first paragraph, truncated to 120 chars.
article_type=news): CLI --cover → frontmatter (coverImage / featureImage / cover / image) → imgs/cover.png → first inline image → stop and request one if still missing.Important — never pre-convert markdown to HTML. Publishing scripts handle the conversion internally and the two methods render images differently: API renders <img> tags for upload, browser uses placeholders for paste-and-replace. Passing a pre-converted HTML breaks one or the other.
Markdown citation default: for markdown input, ordinary external links are converted to bottom citations by default. Use --no-cite only if the user explicitly wants to keep inline links. Existing HTML input is left as-is.
API method (accepts .md or .html):
${BUN_X} {baseDir}/scripts/wechat-api.ts <file> --theme <theme> [--color <color>] [--title <title>] [--summary <summary>] [--author <author>] [--cover <cover_path>] [--source-url <url>] [--no-cite]Always pass --theme even if it's default. Only pass --color when explicitly set by the user or EXTEND.md.
Remote API method (same script, adds --remote):
${BUN_X} {baseDir}/scripts/wechat-api.ts <file> --theme <theme> --remote [--remote-host <host>] [--remote-user <user>] [--remote-port <port>] [--remote-identity-file <path>] [--remote-known-hosts-file <path>] [--remote-strict-host-key-checking yes|no|accept-new] [--remote-connect-timeout <s>] [--remote-proxy-jump <spec>]Any --remote-* flag implies --remote. CLI values override account-level then global remote_publish_* keys from EXTEND.md. Setting default_publish_method: remote-api also enables remote mode without --remote.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, WeChat Official Account Poster needs TypeScript for the scripts in its folder, the command-line tools its instructions call (brew, ssh, npx and npm) and credentials named ACCESS_TOKEN and TELEGRAM_BOT_TOKEN. Our summary lists: Bun, or npx to run it; A WeChat Official Account, with API credentials or Chrome for browser posting.
SKILL.md names 2 domains. In commands or code: api.weixin.qq.com and mp.weixin.qq.com; the agent is likely to contact these when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md flagged 2 warning(s): mentions a credentials file (ssh keys, cloud or package-manager tokens). Read the flagged lines before installing; the check is not a guarantee either way. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
