What it does

Workhuman Rate Limits is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Discover and enforce the tenant-specific Workhuman capacity and retry contract for integrations and batch workflows. Use when controlling throughput or resolving throttling. Trigger with "govern Workhuman rate limits".

Its SKILL.md is about 1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts. Compatibility notes: Designed for Claude Code; production traffic and schedule changes require customer and integration-owner approval

It sits in Backend & APIs, covering Rate limiting. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Controlling throughput
  • Resolving throttling
  • With govern Workhuman rate limits

Example prompts

  • “govern Workhuman rate limits”
  • “/workhuman-rate-limits”

Requirements

  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Designed for Claude Code; production traffic and schedule changes require customer and integration-owner approval
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Read, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, Write, Edit

Workflow steps

8 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Inventory every traffic source, operation, direction, schedule, principal, batch size, concurrency, and downstream dependency.
  2. Obtain the current documented limits and retry semantics or record a vendor question; do not infer them from a short observation.
  3. Establish baselines for latency, throughput, throttling, queue age, error class, batch duration, and reconciliation lag.
  4. Implement shared admission control, bounded concurrency, timeout budgets, queue limits, jittered backoff, and retry caps.
  5. Retry only operations proven safe by read semantics, idempotency, or authoritative reconciliation.
  6. Test burst, sustained load, throttling, timeout, partial batch, downstream slowdown, and recovery with synthetic fixtures.
  7. Present schedule or concurrency changes with evidence, projected capacity, abort threshold, owner, and rollback.
  8. After approval, canary and compare observed behavior with the model; update the dated contract record.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Read
    • Glob
    • Grep
    • WebFetch
    • Write
    • Edit

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • workhuman.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

Designed for Claude Code; production traffic and schedule changes require customer and integration-owner approval

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Workhuman Rate Limits loads about 1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 60 tokens; SKILL.md has 390 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~60
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Workhuman Capacity and Backpressure Governance

Overview

Replace guessed quotas with measured, documented capacity controls that protect recognition, worker-sync, reporting, and downstream systems.

Prerequisites

  • Current customer-authorized capacity, retry, batch, and support contract
  • Expected records and requests by direction, operation, tenant, and time window
  • Service-level objectives, recovery objectives, and authoritative reconciliation method

Tool Discipline

Use Read, Glob, and Grep to inspect traffic and retry configuration, WebFetch for current vendor context, and Write or Edit for models, controls, fixtures, and redacted evidence.

Current Contract

The cited Workhuman public pages do not publish universal request-per-minute limits, retry headers, batch sizes, or concurrency values. Treat all numbers as tenant- and operation-specific until confirmed in current authorized documentation or support evidence.

Authentication

Partition capacity by the documented tenant and principal boundaries. Never rotate credentials, create extra principals, or distribute traffic to evade a limit.

Instructions

  1. Inventory every traffic source, operation, direction, schedule, principal, batch size, concurrency, and downstream dependency.
  2. Obtain the current documented limits and retry semantics or record a vendor question; do not infer them from a short observation.
  3. Establish baselines for latency, throughput, throttling, queue age, error class, batch duration, and reconciliation lag.
  4. Implement shared admission control, bounded concurrency, timeout budgets, queue limits, jittered backoff, and retry caps.
  5. Retry only operations proven safe by read semantics, idempotency, or authoritative reconciliation.
  6. Test burst, sustained load, throttling, timeout, partial batch, downstream slowdown, and recovery with synthetic fixtures.
  7. Present schedule or concurrency changes with evidence, projected capacity, abort threshold, owner, and rollback.
  8. After approval, canary and compare observed behavior with the model; update the dated contract record.

Approval Boundaries

Do not load-test production, increase schedules or concurrency, split principals, or retry ambiguous recognition and award writes without approval.

Output

Return the documented capacity evidence, traffic inventory, baseline, control policy, retry classification, test result, canary measurements, and unresolved vendor limits.

Error Handling

ConditionResponse
No capacity contract is availableUse a conservative customer-approved canary and ask Workhuman for authoritative limits.
Throttling response is ambiguousStop retry escalation and preserve headers and correlation evidence safely.
Queue threatens the recovery objectiveShed or pause approved low-priority work and notify the service owner.

Example

A redacted completion receipt might look like this:

text
workflow=worker-sync; limit=customer-contract; concurrency=bounded; retries=safe-reads-only; burst-test=pass; canary=p95-within-slo

Next Steps
