What it does

Workhuman Local Dev Loop is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Build a secret-free local development loop for a Workhuman adapter using customer-contract fixtures and an explicitly authorized live lane. Use when developing or testing an integration. Trigger with "build a Workhuman dev loop".

Its SKILL.md is about 1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts. Compatibility notes: Designed for Claude Code; live tenant tests require explicit customer authorization and synthetic or approved data

The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Testing an integration
  • With build a Workhuman dev loop

Example prompts

  • “build a Workhuman dev loop”
  • “/workhuman-local-dev-loop”

Requirements

  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Designed for Claude Code; live tenant tests require explicit customer authorization and synthetic or approved data
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Read, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, Write, Edit

Workflow steps

8 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Snapshot the authorized contract with source, date, tenant, environment, and schema fingerprint.
  2. Remove names, messages, employment details, balances, addresses, tokens, and correlation identifiers from fixtures.
  3. Cover success, valid-empty, unauthorized, forbidden, invalid input, throttling, timeout, duplicate, partial, and schema-drift cases.
  4. Put transport behind one adapter that accepts an injected fake and normalizes errors without discarding vendor evidence.
  5. Add contract tests for required fields, nullable fields, pagination or checkpoints, idempotency, and unknown-field tolerance.
  6. Make the default test command network-denied and deterministic.
  7. Gate an optional live test on explicit opt-in, approved non-production tenant, allowlisted host, synthetic record, and cleanup plan.
  8. Redact outputs and retain only contract version, test counts, result, and safe correlation evidence.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Read
    • Glob
    • Grep
    • WebFetch
    • Write
    • Edit

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • workhuman.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

Designed for Claude Code; live tenant tests require explicit customer authorization and synthetic or approved data

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Workhuman Local Dev Loop loads about 1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 64 tokens; SKILL.md has 397 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~64
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Workhuman Contract-First Local Development Loop

Overview

Develop against sanitized fixtures by default, with the customer contract as authority and live Workhuman access isolated behind a deliberate gate.

Prerequisites

  • Customer-authorized schemas or connector mappings with secrets removed
  • Synthetic worker, recognition, award, approval, redemption, and failure fixtures
  • Separate local, test, and production configuration with named owners

Tool Discipline

Use Read, Glob, and Grep to inspect adapters and fixtures, WebFetch to re-check authoritative contracts, and Write or Edit for local code, tests, fixtures, and redacted evidence.

Current Contract

Workhuman's public site confirms product and integration capabilities but not universal endpoint schemas. Local mocks must therefore be derived from the customer's current approved artifacts and labeled with provenance, not invented from examples.

Authentication

The default local lane has no live credential. Load a test credential only through the approved secret provider, deny production hosts, and fail closed when environment or tenant identity is ambiguous.

Instructions

  1. Snapshot the authorized contract with source, date, tenant, environment, and schema fingerprint.
  2. Remove names, messages, employment details, balances, addresses, tokens, and correlation identifiers from fixtures.
  3. Cover success, valid-empty, unauthorized, forbidden, invalid input, throttling, timeout, duplicate, partial, and schema-drift cases.
  4. Put transport behind one adapter that accepts an injected fake and normalizes errors without discarding vendor evidence.
  5. Add contract tests for required fields, nullable fields, pagination or checkpoints, idempotency, and unknown-field tolerance.
  6. Make the default test command network-denied and deterministic.
  7. Gate an optional live test on explicit opt-in, approved non-production tenant, allowlisted host, synthetic record, and cleanup plan.
  8. Redact outputs and retain only contract version, test counts, result, and safe correlation evidence.

Approval Boundaries

Do not capture real workforce payloads, contact production, create awards, or change integration configuration from the local lane without approval.

Output

Return the contract snapshot, fixture inventory, adapter boundary, deterministic test result, live-lane safeguards, redaction proof, and drift findings.

Error Handling

ConditionResponse
Fixture lacks provenanceQuarantine it and regenerate from an authorized, sanitized contract example.
Live host appears in a default testFail the test before transport and remove the unsafe configuration.
Schema changesPreserve the old fixture, add the new version, and route migration through change control.

Example

A redacted completion receipt might look like this:

text
contract=customer-2026-09; fixtures=12-synthetic; default-network=denied; live-lane=opt-in-test-only; tests=pass

Resources

Next Steps

Run the fixture suite in CI and review the contract snapshot whenever Workhuman or the customer configuration changes.
