vercel-upgrade-migrationUpgrade Vercel CLI, Node.js runtime, and Next.js framework versions with breaking change detection.
Vercel Upgrade Migration is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Upgrade Vercel CLI, Node.js runtime, and Next.js framework versions with breaking change detection. Use when upgrading Vercel CLI versions, migrating Node.js runtimes, or updating Next.js between major versions on Vercel. Trigger with phrases like "upgrade vercel", "vercel migration", "vercel breaking changes", "update vercel CLI", "next.js upgrade on vercel".
Its SKILL.md is about 1.5k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 4 other files, including reference files (for example `references/errors.md`, `references/examples.md` and `references/implementation.md`). Compatibility notes: Designed for Claude Code
It sits in Data & Analytics, covering Anomaly detection. It works with Vercel, Next.js, Node.js and npm. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. Vercel Upgrade Migration loads about 1.5k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.1k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 97 tokens; SKILL.md has 408 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Create a dependency-update branch, run the framework codemod and focused tests, and deploy the immutable commit to preview with production-like non-secret configuration. Compare build output, route behavior, and runtime errors against the prior release before approving production promotion. Retain the previous lockfile and deployment as the rollback target; if the upgrade exposes an incompatible module, revert the isolated upgrade commit rather than patching production ad hoc.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Vercel Upgrade Migration needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npm, vercel, git, jq, npx and nvm). Our summary lists: Node.js. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Write, Edit, Bash(vercel:*), Bash(npm:*), Bash(npx:*), Bash(git:*). Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Designed for Claude Code.
SKILL.md names 3 domains. As links in the text: vercel.com, github.com and nextjs.org. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Vercel Upgrade Migration is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.5k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 538 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
