vercel-migration-deep-diveMigrate to Vercel from other platforms or re-architecture existing Vercel deployments.
Vercel Migration Deep Dive is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Migrate to Vercel from other platforms or re-architecture existing Vercel deployments. Use when migrating from Netlify, AWS, or Cloudflare to Vercel, or when re-platforming an existing Vercel application. Trigger with phrases like "migrate to vercel", "vercel migration", "switch to vercel", "netlify to vercel", "aws to vercel", "vercel replatform".
Its SKILL.md is about 2k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 5 other files, including reference files (for example `references/errors.md`, `references/examples.md` and `references/implementation-plan.md`). Compatibility notes: Designed for Claude Code
It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering Deployment. It works with Vercel, Netlify, Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadWriteEditBash(vercel:*)Bash(npm:*)Bash(npx:*)From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
vercelcurljqnpmnetlifyFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
vercel.commartinfowler.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Designed for Claude Code
From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Vercel Migration Deep Dive loads about 2k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.9k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 94 tokens; SKILL.md has 483 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
'.[] | "\(.key)=\(.values[0].value)"' > .env.migrationdone < .env.migrationAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit cfae287, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 483 words, ~1,984 tokens.

Deploy the converted route to Vercel behind a preview hostname, verify functional parity and a rollback deployment with synthetic traffic, then lower DNS TTL well before the approved cutover. Change only the documented record, monitor resolution and application health from multiple regions, and retain the old platform during the validation window. If errors rise beyond the agreed threshold, restore the former DNS target and preserve the exact cutover timeline for review.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Vercel Migration Deep Dive needs the command-line tools its instructions call (vercel, curl, jq, npm and netlify). Our summary lists: Node.js. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Write, Edit, Bash(vercel:*), Bash(npm:*), Bash(npx:*). Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Designed for Claude Code.
SKILL.md names 2 domains. As links in the text: vercel.com and martinfowler.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
