vastai-ci-integrationRun a credential-safe disposable Vast.ai GPU CI job with a scoped key, immutable image, cost ceiling, terminal-state deadline, and guaranteed destruction.
Vastai CI Integration is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Run a credential-safe disposable Vast.ai GPU CI job with a scoped key, immutable image, cost ceiling, terminal-state deadline, and guaranteed destruction. Use when GPU-only acceptance must run in CI. Trigger with: "run GPU tests in CI", "add Vast.ai to GitHub Actions", "make Vast.ai CI clean up".
Its SKILL.md is about 1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Requires a CI secret store, current Vast.ai CLI, immutable test image, registered SSH key, and a disposable test budget.
It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering CI/CD. It works with GitHub Actions. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadGrepWriteEditFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
docs.vast.aigithub.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
VAST_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Requires a CI secret store, current Vast.ai CLI, immutable test image, registered SSH key, and a disposable test budget.
From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Vastai CI Integration loads about 1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.4k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 80 tokens; SKILL.md has 444 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit cfae287, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 444 words, ~1,027 tokens.
.claude/skills/vastai-ci-integration/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.Use ordinary CPU CI for deterministic tests and reserve Vast.ai for a small GPU acceptance slice. The cloud step must publish its resource ID immediately and make cleanup independent of test success.
Run lint, unit, CPU, and image tests first. Skip the GPU job when those fail or when the change does not require hardware acceptance.
Record commit, image digest, test command, GPU policy, maximum spend, external artifact target, and unique CI run label.
Search compliant verified offers and create exactly one instance. Write the returned instance ID to CI state before any polling or test step.
Use structured status, bounded polling, terminal failure branches, and a non-interactive GPU test. Keep command output and logs free of secrets.
Copy the test result, relevant redacted logs, image identity, timings, and cost estimate to durable CI artifacts.
Run destruction in the CI finalizer for success, failure, cancellation, and timeout; confirm removal and alert on cleanup failure.
Inject VAST_API_KEY from the CI secret store into the control step only. Use a scoped key without billing-write or team-write and prevent forked or untrusted PRs from receiving it.
Use Read and Grep to inspect manifests, configuration, provider output, and existing tests before proposing a mutation. Use Write or Edit only for the approved plan, implementation, test, or redacted receipt; do not create, update, destroy, or fund Vast.ai resources without explicit operator approval.
Return CI run, commit, image digest, offer/instance IDs, test result, elapsed time, estimate, and confirmed destruction.
A protected-branch workflow runs CPU tests first, rents one verified GPU under a fixed ceiling, executes a five-minute CUDA acceptance test, uploads JSON evidence, and destroys the instance in always() cleanup.
| Failure | Response |
|---|---|
| Secret-bearing event is untrusted | Skip the GPU job; never expose repository secrets to fork code. |
| Create result lacks an instance ID | Reconcile by run label before retrying to prevent duplicate rentals. |
| Job is cancelled | The independent cleanup job destroys the persisted instance ID. |
| Destroy cannot be confirmed | Fail the workflow and alert the billing owner with the resource ID. |

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Vastai CI Integration needs credentials named VAST_API_KEY. Our summary lists: A credential in VAST_API_KEY. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Grep, Write, Edit. Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Requires a CI secret store, current Vast.ai CLI, immutable test image, registered SSH key, and a disposable test budget..
SKILL.md names 2 domains. As links in the text: docs.vast.ai and github.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Vastai CI Integration is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 335 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
