What it does

Quicknode Prod Checklist is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Run a fail-closed production-readiness review for a QuickNode endpoint and its SDK, transaction, Stream, or Webhook consumers. Use when preparing a launch, major traffic increase, or provider migration. Trigger with: "QuickNode production checklist", "audit QuickNode readiness", "approve a QuickNode launch".

Its SKILL.md is about 920 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Readiness evidence varies by chain, product, plan, and application write authority

It sits in Backend & APIs, covering Webhooks. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Preparing a launch
  • Major traffic increase
  • Provider migration
  • With: QuickNode production checklist

Example prompts

  • “QuickNode production checklist”
  • “audit QuickNode readiness”
  • “approve a QuickNode launch”
  • “/quicknode-prod-checklist”

Requirements

  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Readiness evidence varies by chain, product, plan, and application write authority
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Read, Grep, Bash(qn:*)

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Verify identity and secrets
  2. Verify provider controls
  3. Verify data and write semantics
  4. Verify reliability
  5. Verify observability and cost
  6. Exercise recovery

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 23ea8d4. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Read
    • Grep
    • Bash(qn:*)

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • quicknode.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

Readiness evidence varies by chain, product, plan, and application write authority

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Quicknode Prod Checklist loads about 917 tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.1k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 84 tokens; SKILL.md has 351 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~84
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~917
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~1.1k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

QuickNode Production Readiness

Overview

Review the actual runtime and QuickNode control plane against declared identity, security, capacity, data, correctness, observability, and recovery contracts. Return a decision with blockers, not a generic checklist score.

Prerequisites

  • Release commit and deployment inventory
  • Chain/network, data-retention, and product requirements
  • SLOs, budget, incident owner, and rollback runbook

Instructions

Step 1: Verify identity and secrets

Use Read and Grep to confirm environment-specific secret references, expected chain IDs, no literal endpoint tokens, separate Admin API keys, and no funded signer in CI or logs.

Step 2: Verify provider controls

Use Bash(qn:*) for read-only inspection of endpoint status, tokens, filters, method/IP limits, tags, usage, metrics, and active or paused event products. Record unavailable plan-gated evidence.

Step 3: Verify data and write semantics

Confirm API family, method entitlement, archive/pruning boundary, pagination, block tags, transaction idempotency, nonce owner, confirmation depth, and reorg behavior.

Step 4: Verify reliability

Check finite timeouts, bounded concurrency, classified retries, circuit breaking, WebSocket recovery, Stream/Webhook idempotency, destination acknowledgement, and backlog monitoring.

Step 5: Verify observability and cost

Require endpoint and application latency, error layers, request IDs, chain errors, credit use, transaction landing, event completeness, and secret-safe logs.

Step 6: Exercise recovery

Run a read-only smoke test and tabletop credential rotation, endpoint cutover, provider degradation, event replay, and rollback. Name decision owners and expiry dates for any waiver.

Show full SKILL.md (131 more words)Show less

Tool Discipline

Use Read and Grep for repository evidence and Bash(qn:*) for read-only provider evidence. This review does not deploy, change limits, revoke credentials, pause streams, or approve its own waivers.

Output

  • PASS, CONDITIONAL, or BLOCKED decision
  • Evidence per readiness dimension
  • Owned blockers and expiring waivers
  • Recovery and rollback receipt

Examples

A service is BLOCKED because it assumes archive state on a pruned chain and has no transaction-reconciliation path, even though its endpoint health and latency are green.

Error Handling

FailureResponse
Evidence unavailableMark the dimension unproven; do not infer pass
Secret exposure foundBlock launch and rotate the credential
Recovery exercise failsBlock launch until rollback is repaired
Waiver has no owner or expiryReject the waiver
