procore-install-authChoose and implement the correct Procore OAuth 2.0 boundary for a user-facing app or headless data connector.
Procore Install Auth is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Choose and implement the correct Procore OAuth 2.0 boundary for a user-facing app or headless data connector. Use when registering credentials, selecting Authorization Code versus DMSA Client Credentials, caching tokens, or planning revocation. Trigger with: "set up Procore auth", "choose Procore OAuth flow", "configure a Procore DMSA".
Its SKILL.md is about 1.2k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Requires a Procore Developer account, an approved secret store, and network access to the selected Procore environment.
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering OAuth and OpenID Connect, Caching and Authorization and RBAC. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Procore Install Auth loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 90 tokens; SKILL.md has 490 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit cfae287, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 490 words, ~1,210 tokens.
.claude/skills/procore-install-auth/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.Select authentication from the actor model, not implementation convenience. User-facing applications normally use Authorization Code, while unattended connectors use Client Credentials through a Developer Managed Service Account whose manifest permissions bound access.
Use Authorization Code when the integration acts as a Procore user. Use Client Credentials only for a DMSA or explicitly governed service account that operates without user context.
List required tool operations before building the app manifest. For a DMSA, encode only those company and project permissions, and require the administrator to select permitted projects during installation.
Keep production and Developer Sandbox credentials, tokens, login hosts, and API hosts isolated. Never accept a token minted for one environment in another environment's configuration.
Exchange credentials only from a confidential backend, cache the returned Bearer token until its reported expiry, serialize refresh-token replacement for Authorization Code clients, and persist a newly rotated refresh token atomically.
Run one permitted read and one expected-denial test. Include Procore-Company-Id where the endpoint or Multiple Procore Regions contract requires company routing.
Document how an operator revokes authorization, replaces credentials, observes the new credential, and removes the old one without logging secrets.
Procore REST requests use OAuth 2.0 Bearer tokens. Authorization Code represents a logged-in user's permissions; Client Credentials represents a DMSA's configured permissions and permitted projects. Keep client secrets and tokens server-side, and never place them in evidence.
Use Read and Grep to inspect application manifests, endpoint requirements, and existing configuration. Use Write or Edit only for the approved configuration, code, test, or redacted receipt; do not change Procore permissions or installations without administrator approval.
Return a concise receipt containing the app type, grant, environment, permitted tools, test outcomes, and rollback owner.
A nightly project synchronizer uses a DMSA Client Credentials grant with read access only to the required tools and selected projects. A browser application that edits on behalf of a superintendent instead uses Authorization Code and inherits that user's access.
| Failure | Response |
|---|---|
| Token request rejects the client | Stop retries; verify environment, grant, credential source, and app installation. |
| Refresh token is rejected | Re-authorize the user; do not reuse a refresh token after a successful exchange. |
| Permitted call returns 403 or hidden 404 | Check DMSA tool permission, project membership, installation, and company routing. |
| Credential may be exposed | Revoke or rotate immediately, invalidate caches, and scrub derived artifacts. |
