grammarly-api-reliabilityAnalyze a sanitized Grammarly asynchronous job receipt without sending requests, reading document content, or guessing provider SLAs.
Grammarly API Reliability is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Analyze a sanitized Grammarly asynchronous job receipt without sending requests, reading document content, or guessing provider SLAs. Use when a Writing Score or similar document job is PENDING, FAILED, or COMPLETED and a bounded retry decision is needed. Trigger with "analyze Grammarly job receipt", "Grammarly 429 retry", or "Grammarly job status".
Its SKILL.md is about 1.4k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 6 other files, including scripts and reference files (for example `eval-spec.yaml`, `references/official-contract.md` and `references/receipt-schema.md`). Compatibility notes: Agent Skills-compatible hosts; requires Python 3.10+
It sits in Development, covering Async programming. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.
3 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 80f86df. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Grammarly API Reliability loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.2k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 94 tokens; SKILL.md has 563 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit 80f86df, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 563 words, ~1,367 tokens.
.claude/skills/grammarly-api-reliability/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 4 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.This is a read-only, metadata-only decision aid for asynchronous Grammarly jobs. It does not call Grammarly, upload text, inspect a response body, create a token, or retry a request. It turns one strict JSON receipt into a bounded, evidence-labeled classification.
Use this skill to classify a sanitized asynchronous receipt without treating a provider response as permission to retry blindly.
No credentials, network access, Grammarly account, document, or response body is needed. Python 3.10+ is the only runtime requirement. If a separate live integration is being designed, use the official OAuth 2.0 credentials documentation (accessed 2026-09-04) to determine access; live authentication and requests are outside this skill.
Run the bundled script against a receipt file or standard input:
python3 scripts/analyze_job_receipt.py receipt.json
cat receipt.json | python3 scripts/analyze_job_receipt.py -
python3 scripts/analyze_job_receipt.py --self-testThe analyzer accepts only the documented metadata schema in
references/receipt-schema.md. It recursively rejects
keys associated with document content, bodies, text, headers, or tokens, including
those hidden in an otherwise unknown nested object. Unknown keys, malformed values,
inconsistent 429 evidence, and attempts above the cap fail closed.
COMPLETED is terminal. Do not retry it.PENDING is not a failure. Report that the receipt is still pending; do not invent
a polling interval, timeout, SLA, quota, or freshness guarantee.FAILED with http_status: 429 is the only status-specific retry class in this
skill. If a numeric retry_after_seconds value is supplied, the output preserves
that evidence as the wait instruction. If it is absent, the output names
Grammarly's documented 2-second-base exponential-backoff guidance for 429 only;
it does not invent a maximum, jitter rule, quota, or service promise.MANUAL_REVIEW: the receipt alone does not
establish that retrying is safe.attempts == max_attempts is ATTEMPT_CAP_REACHED and must
not receive retry guidance. An input with attempts > max_attempts is invalid. The cap is caller-supplied policy, not a Grammarly limit. The analyzer never changes the cap or performs the next attempt. A human or caller-owned controller must decide whether a retry is appropriate after reviewing the emitted classification.
Use synthetic receipts for evaluation. Never paste document text, raw request or response bodies, HTTP headers, access tokens, authorization values, or secrets. The script is standard-library-only and has no network, filesystem-write, subprocess, or deletion behavior. It reports validation errors rather than trying to sanitize unsafe input.
Read the focused references only when needed:
references/receipt-schema.md — exact accepted
fields, recursive rejection rules, and output classes.references/official-contract.md — the
primary Grammarly Writing Score contract and the narrow 429 guidance boundary. The JSON result names the accepted status, attempts, cap, classification, and a short evidence-bounded guidance string. It never echoes submitted metadata beyond those safe scalar fields and never fabricates an SLA, timeout, quota, result body, or document diagnosis.
Invalid JSON, forbidden recursive keys, unknown fields, unsupported statuses,
contradictory 429 evidence, and cap violations are errors. The script exits non-zero
and emits no classification. A valid non-429 failure is MANUAL_REVIEW, not a retry
recommendation.
COMPLETED_TERMINAL and no retry instruction.retry_after_seconds: 17 returns RETRY_AFTER_EVIDENCE and
preserves 17 seconds.diagnostics.response_body or credentials.access_token field is
rejected before classification.references/receipt-schema.md — accepted fields,

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Grammarly API Reliability needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash(python3:*). Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Agent Skills-compatible hosts; requires Python 3.10+.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: developer.grammarly.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Grammarly API Reliability is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 842 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
