flexport-rate-limitsAnalyze and control Flexport request volume without inventing undocumented global limits or headers.
Flexport Rate Limits is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Analyze and control Flexport request volume without inventing undocumented global limits or headers. Use when handling throttling, OAuth token budgets, endpoint-specific quotas, pagination pressure, or retry policy. Trigger with: "Flexport rate limit", "throttle Flexport calls", "budget Flexport tokens".
Its SKILL.md is about 1.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Requires per-operation metrics, bounded queues, and current endpoint documentation or observed provider responses.
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering Rate limiting, LLM cost and token optimization and OAuth and OpenID Connect. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadGrepWriteEditFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are yaml).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
api.flexport.commcp.flexport.comAlso links to:
developers.flexport.comapidocs.flexport.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Requires per-operation metrics, bounded queues, and current endpoint documentation or observed provider responses.
From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Flexport Rate Limits loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 82 tokens; SKILL.md has 425 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit cfae287, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 425 words, ~1,107 tokens.
.claude/skills/flexport-rate-limits/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.Build controls from documented endpoint constraints and observed responses, not a fictional universal requests-per-minute number. The clearest fixed budget is OAuth token issuance: at most 10 token requests per day per documented credential flow.
Track token acquisition, read traffic, mutations, webhook processing, and MCP tool calls independently.
Reuse each 24-hour OAuth JWT through a shared cache and single-flight refresh so business concurrency does not consume the 10/day token-request budget.
Apply endpoint-specific documented limits and provider retry signals when present. Do not assume rate-limit headers or Retry-After exist universally.
Use documented page sizes/cursors or links, avoid expensive expansions on index calls, and stop pagination when the business window is satisfied.
Queue bookings and record creation by business key, cap attempts, and reconcile ambiguous outcomes before retry.
Change concurrency only from measured latency/error evidence and preserve the before/after decision.
REST calls authenticate with a cached OAuth 2.0 client-credentials Bearer token using audience https://api.flexport.com, or an explicitly accepted broad API key. Use distinct credentials per workload and never log credentials or tokens. MCP calls use the authenticated connection to https://mcp.flexport.com/mcp and remain subject to each tool's documented account permissions.
Use Read and Grep for discovery and evidence. Use Write or Edit only for the approved artifact, code, configuration, test, or receipt described by this workflow; do not make an unapproved Flexport-side change.
Return a machine-reviewable receipt in this shape; adapt the operation values, but never place credentials or provider payloads in it:
surface: rest-v3
operation: shipment-read
decision: approved
outcome: verified
evidence:
release_sha: recorded-out-of-band
provider_reference: redacted
rollback_owner: logistics-platformAn importer reads freight invoices from /invoices in pages of 10 as recommended for performance, caches its OAuth token, limits concurrent reads based on observed behavior, and never claims a global Flexport quota that the docs do not publish.
| Failure | Response |
|---|---|
| 429 without retry metadata | Pause the affected surface, use bounded backoff with jitter, and seek provider guidance. |
| Token requests approach 10/day | Stop acquisition and repair cache sharing before tokens expire. |
| Queue grows after concurrency increase | Roll back the increase and inspect endpoint latency/error evidence. |
| Mutation throttled | Reconcile existing business references before resubmitting. |

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Flexport Rate Limits is instructions for the agent only. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Grep, Write, Edit. Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Requires per-operation metrics, bounded queues, and current endpoint documentation or observed provider responses..
SKILL.md names 4 domains. In commands or code: api.flexport.com and mcp.flexport.com; the agent is likely to contact these when it follows the instructions. As links in the text: developers.flexport.com and apidocs.flexport.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Flexport Rate Limits is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 228 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
