What it does

Cohere Debug Bundle is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Collect a minimal redacted Cohere diagnostic bundle with versions, request shape, timing, status, and reproduction evidence. Use when escalating a persistent Cohere problem. Trigger with "Cohere debug bundle", "Cohere support evidence", or "collect Cohere diagnostics".

Its SKILL.md is about 1.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Designed for Claude Code; live verification requires network access and an approved Cohere API key

It sits in Development, covering Debugging. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • Escalating a persistent Cohere problem
  • With Cohere debug bundle
  • Cohere support evidence
  • Collect Cohere diagnostics

Example prompts

  • “Cohere debug bundle”
  • “Cohere support evidence”
  • “collect Cohere diagnostics”
  • “/cohere-debug-bundle”

Requirements

  • A credential in CO_API_KEY
  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Designed for Claude Code; live verification requires network access and an approved Cohere API key
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Read, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, Write, Edit

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Create a dedicated output directory with restrictive permissions and a retention deadline.
  2. Capture runtime, SDK, lockfile, network path, timestamp, and Cohere status metadata.
  3. Serialize a redacted request-shape summary and the smallest synthetic reproduction.
  4. Include bounded probe output, application correlation ID, and sanitized stack trace.
  5. Scan the bundle for key formats, authorization headers, emails, prompts, and customer identifiers.
  6. Return the manifest and checksum for human review; do not transmit it automatically.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 80f86df. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Read
    • Glob
    • Grep
    • WebFetch
    • Write
    • Edit

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • docs.cohere.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:

    • CO_API_KEY

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

Designed for Claude Code; live verification requires network access and an approved Cohere API key

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Cohere Debug Bundle loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.9k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 72 tokens; SKILL.md has 429 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~72
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.1k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~1.9k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Cohere Support-Ready Debug Bundle

Overview

Produce evidence that support can act on without copying credentials, prompts, customer data, or an unrestricted environment dump.

Prerequisites

  • The target repository, runtime, environment, and accountable owner
  • An approved Cohere team and key for any live verification
  • Current quality, security, privacy, capacity, and change-control requirements

Tool Discipline

Use Read, Glob, and Grep to inspect code, configuration, and evidence. Use WebFetch only for current Cohere primary documentation. Use Write or Edit only when the user requested implementation and the exact target files are known; never write credentials or customer content.

Current Contract

  • Collect only allowlisted environment-variable names and redact values.
  • Record endpoint, SDK/runtime versions, model ID, status, latency, retry count, and provider request identifier when available.
  • Represent request and response structures with synthetic or hashed content.
  • Keep the bundle local until a human approves its recipients and data classification.

Authentication

Use an environment-specific key injected from an approved secret manager. Never print, persist, commit, or place CO_API_KEY in an example. Confirm access with the least costly bounded operation appropriate to the task, and treat key creation, rotation, revocation, role changes, and production-capacity requests as owner-approved actions.

Instructions

Approval Boundaries

Do not expose or rotate keys, change Cohere Team roles, accept commercial terms, enable sensitive production data, increase spend or capacity, switch production models, send a support bundle, or execute model-proposed side effects without the accountable owner's approval. Keep diagnosis read-only unless implementation was requested.

Output

Return the resolved API and model contract, files or settings inspected, evidence collected, validation result, remaining risk, owner, and rollback or next action. Redact keys, authorization headers, prompts, retrieved documents, embeddings, customer identifiers, and unrestricted environment output.

Error Handling

ConditionResponse
Secret detectedStop packaging, remove the value, and rotate if exposure occurred.
Customer text presentReplace it with a synthetic reproducer or approved hash.
Oversized bundleDrop unrelated logs and narrow the time window.
No reproductionDocument observed evidence and mark the failure intermittent.

Examples

Use this compact handoff shape to keep the selected scope, validation evidence, and operational result reviewable.

Input:

text
incident=INC-42; window=10m; reproduction=synthetic; destination=local-only

Expected handoff:

text
bundle=ready; secrets=0; customer-content=0; checksum=recorded
