canva-upgrade-migrationPlan and verify a Canva Connect contract upgrade from pinned OpenAPI and changelog evidence.
Canva Upgrade Migration is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Plan and verify a Canva Connect contract upgrade from pinned OpenAPI and changelog evidence. Use when endpoints, scopes, enums, validation, deprecations, or preview behavior change. Trigger with: "upgrade Canva API", "Canva breaking change", "diff Canva OpenAPI".
Its SKILL.md is about 1000 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Requires current and target contract artifacts, compatibility tests, feature flags, and rollback authority.
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering OpenAPI specifications and Changelog and release notes. It works with Canva and OpenAPI. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.
7 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
ReadGrepWriteEditFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
canva.devFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Requires current and target contract artifacts, compatibility tests, feature flags, and rollback authority.
From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Canva Upgrade Migration loads about 996 tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.1k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 72 tokens; SKILL.md has 420 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit cfae287, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 420 words, ~996 tokens.
.claude/skills/canva-upgrade-migration/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.Canva uses date-based Connect API versions while the path v1 is an epoch marker. Preview features may change without a new version, so upgrade evidence must include feature status and live protected checks.
Use Read and Grep to record exact source URLs, retrieval times, bytes/checksums, API version metadata, generator version, and current deployed artifact.
Review endpoints, methods, scopes, required inputs, validation, enums, response requiredness, error/status behavior, deprecations, and preview changes.
Find adapters, schemas, fixtures, policies, UI assumptions, queues, data stores, metrics, and runbooks that depend on each changed fact.
Use Write or Edit to update code and add old/new fixtures for success, error, unknown additive fields, changed enums, async states, redaction, and rollback.
Treat any scope or capability change as an authorization migration requiring portal configuration and possibly fresh user consent; never silently broaden.
Ship an immutable feature-flagged artifact to a protected environment, run mocked plus read-only live evidence, then expose a bounded cohort under local thresholds.
Roll back on drift, preserve job/resource identity across versions, remove deprecated code after the window, and record exact evidence and residual preview risk.
Canva Connect calls use Bearer access tokens obtained by a backend through OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code with SHA-256 PKCE. Request explicit least-privilege scopes, keep client secrets and tokens out of browser-visible state, and serialize refresh so the replacement single-use refresh token is stored atomically.
Use Read and Grep for discovery and evidence. Use Write or Edit only for the approved artifact, code, configuration, test, or receipt described by this workflow; do not make an unapproved Canva-side change.
An OpenAPI diff adds a response field and changes a preview enum. The adapter accepts the additive field, handles unknown preview values safely, and deploys behind a flag without changing scopes.
| Failure | Response |
|---|---|
| Target contract is not pinned | Do not begin implementation |
| Scope changed | Stop for consent and authorization review |
| Preview behavior lacks compatibility | Disable that path or keep rollout experimental |
| Rollback cannot read new state | Add a reversible schema/adapter plan before release |

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Canva Upgrade Migration is instructions for the agent only. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Grep, Write, Edit. Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Requires current and target contract artifacts, compatibility tests, feature flags, and rollback authority..
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: canva.dev. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

About 996 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 126 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
