ingestCompiles raw articles, papers and transcripts sitting in an inbox folder into linked Obsidian source, entity and concept pages, then archives the originals.
Treats a `raw/` folder as an inbox of unprocessed markdown articles, papers and PDFs, and a `wiki/` folder as the compiled output, split into source summaries, entities (people, companies, tools, products) and concepts (frameworks, methodologies, theories). Running `/ingest` scans every unarchived file in `raw/`, while `/ingest <path>` processes just one, and the archive folder itself is never read.
For each file, the agent reads it, extracts a one- or two-sentence gist plus its entities and concepts, translates non-Chinese content into Chinese, writes a source summary page, and then creates or incrementally merges an entity or concept page for each item found. A detected conflict between new and existing knowledge pauses the run and asks you to choose between keeping both versions, overwriting, or abandoning that item, before the global index and an append-only log are updated and the source file is finally moved into the archive.

Obsidian Vault Ingest Pipeline loads about 669 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 49 tokens; SKILL.md has 159 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 159 words (~669 tokens).

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add jason-effi-lab/karpathy-llm-wiki-vault --skill ingest -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/ingest, .gemini/skills/ingest, .github/skills/ingest and .opencode/skills/ingest in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Obsidian Vault Ingest Pipeline is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: An Obsidian vault with the raw/ and wiki/ folder structure already set up.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Obsidian Vault Ingest Pipeline or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 669 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
