What it does

Frontend Conventions is an agent skill from Inebrio/Routerly. Rules for the dashboard SPA in this repository, including the visual bar a page must clear. Use when implementing anything a user sees.

Its SKILL.md is about 390 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Frontend & Design. The repository describes itself as: Self-hosted LLM gateway that routes requests across AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, Ollama) using intelligent multi-policy scoring — including an LLM-native… The licence is AGPL-3.0.

When your agent uses it

Example prompts

  • “Use the frontend-conventions skill to rule for the dashboard SPA in this repository, including the visual bar a page must clear”
  • “/frontend-conventions”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit bcf58f1. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • npm

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Frontend Conventions loads about 392 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 39 tokens; SKILL.md has 207 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~39
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~392

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Frontend conventions

Binding detail lives in .Codex/rules/dashboard.md. React 18, Vite 6, TypeScript strict.

Rules

  • Functional components and hooks only. No implicit any.
  • Every API call goes through api.ts. No fetch in a component.
  • localStorage is touched only in api.ts and AuthContext.tsx.
  • Colours come from ThemeContext. Never hardcode one: it breaks the other theme, and both themes ship.
  • Types come from the shared package. Never duplicate one.
  • Reuse an existing component before writing a new one. Look in src/components/ first, every time.
  • A dropdown is a SearchableSelect, never a native select. This is the standing default, not a question to ask.

The visual bar

A page that works but looks broken is not done. Before you report done:

  • Spacing and alignment match the pages next to it.
  • Both themes render correctly. Check the one you did not develop in.
  • Empty state is handled and says something useful.
  • Loading state exists. Error state exists and shows the real message.
  • Nothing overflows or reflows at a narrower viewport.

Verify in a browser

Build first, then navigate:

npm run build --workspace=packages/dashboard

A page you have not opened is not verified. Open it, exercise the flow a user would, read the console, and treat a console error as a failure even when the screen looks right.
