What it does

Commit And Push is an agent skill from hiroshiyui/GuilelessBopomofo. Commit code changes and push via Git. Use when the user asks to commit, push, or save their work to the repository.

Its SKILL.md is about 790 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Development. It works with Git and Android. The repository describes itself as: Guileless Bopomofo - A Bopomofo (Zhuyin) software keyboard (aka input method editor) on Android, which is utilizing libchewing for intelligent phonetic processing. 樸實注音鍵盤是… The licence is GPL-3.0.

When your agent uses it

  • The user asks to commit
  • Save their work to the repository

Example prompts

  • “/commit-and-push”

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Review changes — run git status and git diff to understand what will be committed.
  2. Stage files — add specific files by name rather than git add -A. Be careful not to stage
  3. Commit — use --signoff flag. Pass the message via HEREDOC for proper formatting
  4. Push — always confirm with the user before pushing. This project has two remotes

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e41eac5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • git

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Commit And Push loads about 793 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 33 tokens; SKILL.md has 344 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~33
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~793

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check: notes

The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.

  • NoteMentions a .env fileSKILL.md:34
    - Sensitive files (`.env`, credentials, signing keys)

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Commit and Push

You are committing and pushing code changes for Guileless Bopomofo.

Commit Message Convention

  • Subject line: imperative mood, concise summary of the change (e.g. "Fix version() returning null", "Add unit tests for pure Kotlin logic codes.")
  • Body (optional): explain why the change was made, not just what. Include context when the change is non-trivial.
  • Signed-off-by trailer: all commits use --signoff to add the Signed-off-by trailer automatically.
  • No conventional commits prefix (no feat:, fix:, etc.) — this project uses plain English subject lines.
Subject Line Patterns

Follow the existing style:

  • Add ... — new feature or file
  • Fix ... — bug fix
  • Update ... — dependency or content update
  • Remove ... — deletion of code or files
  • Refactor: ... — code restructuring
  • Style: ... — formatting or cosmetic changes
  • Upgrade ... — dependency version upgrades
  • Release X.Y.Z — release commits (handled by /release-engineering)

Workflow

  1. Review changes — run git status and git diff to understand what will be committed.

  2. Stage files — add specific files by name rather than git add -A. Be careful not to stage:

    • Sensitive files (.env, credentials, signing keys)
    • Build artifacts (app/build/, app/.cxx/)
    • Chewing data files in assets (these are generated during build)
  3. Commit — use --signoff flag. Pass the message via HEREDOC for proper formatting:

    bash
    git commit --signoff -m "$(cat <<'EOF'
    Subject line here

    Optional body explaining why.

    Co-Authored-By: Claude <MODEL> <noreply@anthropic.com>
    EOF
    )"

Co-author line is dynamic — do NOT hardcode a model version. Replace <MODEL> with the display name of the model actually running this session, exactly as stated in your environment/system prompt (e.g. "You are powered by the model named ..."). Include any variant qualifier it carries, such as (1M context). Examples of the resulting trailer:

    • Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>
    • Co-Authored-By: Claude Sonnet 5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

If the running model's name is genuinely unavailable, fall back to a bare Co-Authored-By: Claude <noreply@anthropic.com> rather than guessing a version.

  4. Push — always confirm with the user before pushing. This project has two remotes:

    • origin — GitHub (git@github.com:hiroshiyui/GuilelessBopomofo.git)
    • gitlab — GitLab mirror (git@gitlab.com:hiroshiyui/GuilelessBopomofo.git)

By default, push to origin. Push to gitlab only if the user requests it.

Branch Conventions

  • master — main/stable branch
  • current — active development branch
  • Feature branches use descriptive names (e.g. issue-65-implement-all-physical-keyboard-layouts)

Never force-push to master or current without explicit user approval.
