react19-source-patternsReference for React 19 source-file migration patterns, including API changes, ref handling, and context updates.
React19 Source Patterns is an agent skill from github/awesome-copilot, published by the product's own GitHub organization. Reference for React 19 source-file migration patterns, including API changes, ref handling, and context updates.
Its SKILL.md is about 490 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/api-migrations.md`).
It works with React. The repository describes itself as: Community-contributed instructions, agents, skills, and configurations to help you make the most of GitHub Copilot. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 727ff2e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are javascript).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
React19 Source Patterns loads about 489 tokens when it runs, and up to ~3.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 34 tokens; SKILL.md has 156 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Do not remove .propTypes assignments. The prop-types package still works as a standalone validator. React 19 only removes the built-in runtime checking from the React package the package itself remains valid.
Add this comment above any .propTypes block:
// NOTE: React 19 no longer runs propTypes validation at runtime.
// PropTypes kept for documentation and IDE tooling only. For full before/after code for each migration, read references/api-migrations.md. It contains the complete patterns including edge cases for forwardRef with useImperativeHandle, defaultProps null vs undefined behavior, and legacy context provider/consumer cross-file migrations.

makeplane/plane
Scans React code for lint, accessibility, bundle size and architecture issues, reports a health score and checks that changes do not lower it.
vercel-labs/openreview
Rules for structuring React components with composition instead of boolean props, covering compound components, lifted state, variants and React 19 changes.
remix-run/react-router
Guides work on React Router apps by first identifying whether the app uses Framework, Data or Declarative mode, then loading the matching reference and the installed package docs.
iOfficeAI/AionUi
Tells the agent where new code belongs in an Electron multi-process project and which APIs each process may use, with rules for new bridges, services, agents and workers.
google-labs-code/stitch-skills
Builds walkthrough videos from Stitch design projects using Remotion, with transitions, zoom effects and text overlays on each screen.
github/awesome-copilot
Maps an unfamiliar codebase into seven evidence-backed documents in docs/codebase/, using a scan script and templates, for onboarding or architecture write-ups.
github/awesome-copilot
Designs Azure infrastructure from a natural-language description, or diagrams an existing resource group, then refines the design through conversation and deploys it with Bicep.
github/awesome-copilot
Generates, edits and validates draw.io files with correct mxGraph XML, covering flowcharts, architecture, sequence, ER and UML class diagrams.
github/awesome-copilot
Cleans raw credit data and screens variables before loan modeling, dropping unstable, noisy or redundant features and writing an Excel report of every step.
github/awesome-copilot
Builds a warm, browser-based daily focus board the user updates by talking to their agent, with Eisenhower priorities, a brain-dump box and kind not-today carryover.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: React19 Source Patterns is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

About 489 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 2.8k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
