clerkClerk authentication router. An agent skill from geekskai/blog.
Clerk is an agent skill from geekskai/blog. Clerk authentication router. Use when user asks about Clerk CLI operations, adding authentication, setting up Clerk, custom sign-in flows, Swift or native iOS auth, native Android auth, Next.js patterns, React patterns, Vue patterns, Nuxt patterns, Astro patterns, TanStack Start patterns, Expo patterns, React Router patterns, Chrome Extension patterns, organizations, billing, subscriptions, payments, pricing, plans, seat-based pricing, feature entitlements, syncing users, testing, impersonating a user, or testing…
Its SKILL.md is about 1.5k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering Payments and billing, Cross-platform mobile apps and React components. It works with Expo, Next.js, React Router and TanStack. The repository describes itself as: 🚀 2026 Most Popular FREE Blog Template! Next.js 14, Zero Code - Just Write & Deploy | 2026最火免费博客模板!支持Markdown,一键部署,极致性能!⚡️ ✨ Write in Markdown, get your professional blog in…. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 347e8ab. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Clerk loads about 1.5k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 152 tokens; SKILL.md has 592 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from geekskai/blog at commit 347e8ab, republished under its MIT licence (© geekskai). 592 words, ~1,516 tokens.
.claude/skills/clerk/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Check package.json to determine the Clerk SDK version. This determines which patterns to use:
| Package | Core 2 (LTS until Jan 2027) | Current |
|---|---|---|
@clerk/nextjs | v5–v6 | v7+ |
@clerk/react or @clerk/clerk-react | v5–v6 | v7+ |
@clerk/expo or @clerk/clerk-expo | v1–v2 | v3+ |
@clerk/react-router | v1–v2 | v3+ |
@clerk/tanstack-react-start | < v0.26.0 | v0.26.0+ |
Default to current if the version is unclear or the project is new. Core 2 packages use @clerk/clerk-react and @clerk/clerk-expo (with clerk- prefix); current packages use @clerk/react and @clerk/expo.
All skills are written for the current SDK. When something differs in Core 2, it's noted inline with > **Core 2 ONLY (skip if current SDK):** callouts. The exception is clerk-custom-ui, which has separate core-2/ and core-3/ directories for custom flow hooks since those APIs are entirely different between versions.

Run `npx skills add geekskai/blog --skill clerk -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/clerk in geekskai/blog) into .claude/skills/clerk in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add geekskai/blog --skill clerk -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/clerk, .gemini/skills/clerk, .github/skills/clerk and .opencode/skills/clerk in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Clerk is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Clerk is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.5k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
