What it does

Firecrawl Competitive Intel is an agent skill from firecrawl/skills. Monitor competitor pricing, features, changelogs, dashboards, and product changes with Firecrawl. Use for recurring competitive intelligence, pricing tier extraction, feature change tracking, or structured competitor alerts.

Its SKILL.md is about 600 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Data & Analytics, covering Web scraping, Changelog and release notes and Competitor analysis. It works with Firecrawl. The licence is ISC.

Example prompts

  • “/firecrawl-competitive-intel”

Requirements

  • A credential in FIRECRAWL_API_KEY

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d0ffd7c. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are markdown).

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Firecrawl Competitive Intel loads about 604 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 63 tokens; SKILL.md has 177 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~63
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~604

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Firecrawl Competitive Intel

Use this for monitoring competitors over time. This is not the broad competitor analysis workflow.

Onboarding Interview

Infer competitors, focus, cadence, and output format from context. If competitors are clear, proceed immediately.

Ask at most 1-3 concise questions only if blocked, such as the competitor list, focus area, or whether authenticated pages/profiles are required.

Firecrawl Collection Plan

For each competitor, use Firecrawl scrape or browser as needed:

  • pricing pages, annual/monthly toggles, expanded feature tables
  • feature and product pages
  • changelogs, blogs, release notes, docs updates
  • authenticated dashboards only when the user has legitimate access

Parallel Work

If appropriate, use sub-agents or equivalent parallel task runners. A natural split is one competitor per researcher or one focus area per researcher.

Each researcher should return pricing tiers, features, recent changes, source URLs, and confidence notes.
