prd-to-planTurn a PRD into a multi-phase implementation plan using tracer-bullet vertical slices, saved as a local Markdown file in ./plans/.
Prd To Plan is an agent skill from Dwlad90/stylex-swc-plugin. Turn a PRD into a multi-phase implementation plan using tracer-bullet vertical slices, saved as a local Markdown file in ./plans/. Use when user wants to break down a PRD, create an implementation plan, plan phases from a PRD, or mentions "tracer bullets".
Its SKILL.md is about 770 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Product & Project Management, covering PRD writing and Planning. It works with Turborepo, Vite, webpack and Next.js. The repository describes itself as: Rust/NAPI-RS/SWC compiler for StyleX CSS-in-JS — a faster, Babel-free replacement for @stylexjs/babel-plugin with plugins for Next.js, Vite, webpack, Rspack, Rollup, Turbopack… The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 03ad760. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Prd To Plan loads about 767 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 67 tokens; SKILL.md has 382 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from Dwlad90/stylex-swc-plugin at commit 03ad760, republished under its MIT licence (© Dwlad90). 382 words, ~767 tokens.
.claude/skills/prd-to-plan/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Break a PRD into a phased implementation plan using vertical slices (tracer
bullets). Output is a Markdown file in ./plans/.
The PRD should already be in the conversation. If it isn't, ask the user to paste it or point you to the file.
If you have not already explored the codebase, do so to understand the current architecture, existing patterns, and integration layers.
Before slicing, identify high-level decisions that are unlikely to change throughout implementation:
These go in the plan header so every phase can reference them.
Break the PRD into tracer bullet phases. Each phase is a thin vertical slice that cuts through ALL integration layers end-to-end, NOT a horizontal slice of one layer.
<vertical-slice-rules>
- Each slice delivers a narrow but COMPLETE path through every layer (schema, API, UI, tests)
- A completed slice is demoable or verifiable on its own
- Prefer many thin slices over few thick ones
- Do NOT include specific file names, function names, or implementation details that are likely to change as later phases are built
- DO include durable decisions: route paths, schema shapes, data model names
</vertical-slice-rules>
Present the proposed breakdown as a numbered list. For each phase show:
Ask the user:
Iterate until the user approves the breakdown.
Create ./plans/ if it doesn't exist. Write the plan as a Markdown file named
after the feature (e.g. ./plans/user-onboarding.md). Use the template below.
<plan-template>
# Plan: <Feature Name>
Source PRD:
<brief identifier or link>
Durable decisions that apply across all phases:
<Title>User stories: <list from PRD>
A concise description of this vertical slice. Describe the end-to-end behavior, not layer-by-layer implementation.
<Title>User stories: <list from PRD>
...
<!-- Repeat for each phase -->
</plan-template>

Turn a PRD into a multi-phase implementation plan using tracer-bullet vertical slices, saved as a local Markdown file in ./plans/. Prd To Plan is an agent skill from Dwlad90/stylex-swc-plugin./plans/.
Prd To Plan fits situations like: user wants to break down a PRD; create an implementation plan; plan phases from a PRD; mentions tracer bullets.
Run `npx skills add Dwlad90/stylex-swc-plugin --skill prd-to-plan -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/prd-to-plan in Dwlad90/stylex-swc-plugin) into .claude/skills/prd-to-plan in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Dwlad90/stylex-swc-plugin --skill prd-to-plan -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/prd-to-plan, .gemini/skills/prd-to-plan, .github/skills/prd-to-plan and .opencode/skills/prd-to-plan in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Prd To Plan is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Prd To Plan is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 767 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
