Kmp Starter Core Rules is an agent skill from DevAtrii/Kmp-Starter-Template. Non-negotiable rules for building on the KMP Starter Template — priority order, Golden Rule, terminology, state vs UI-state boundaries, visibility, demo removal, snackbars, and UI weight. Read before writing any code.
Its SKILL.md is about 570 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Development, covering Project scaffolding. The repository describes itself as: Starter template is a multi-module KMP boilerplate for Android & iOS with clean architecture and high-quality code. It handles basics like remote config, in-app purchases, and… The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a8f7b27. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
starter.atherio.devFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Kmp Starter Core Rules loads about 574 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 60 tokens; SKILL.md has 256 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from DevAtrii/Kmp-Starter-Template at commit a8f7b27, republished under its MIT licence (© DevAtrii). 256 words, ~574 tokens.

Before creating any new utility, helper, manager, abstraction, base class, datastore, file manager, navigation system, platform API, wrapper, or common component — search the Starter Template first. Reuse → extend → configure. Never duplicate.
| Other frameworks call it | Rename to |
|---|---|
| Intent | Action |
| Effect | Event |
| Mutation | Action |
| UseCase | Logic |
Use Action for UI → ViewModel, Event for ViewModel → UI, Logic for use cases. Keep this naming everywhere.
State holds application data, not transient UI state.
Store in State: user, files, notes, selected image bytes, loading, filters, repository data, search query, pagination.
Never store in State: dialog visibility, snackbar visibility, bottom-sheet visibility, dropdown expanded state, animation states, focus states. These live inside Composables.
Mark anything not required outside a module internal. Only expose the public API other modules need.
Do not show a snackbar for every successful action. If the UI already communicates the result, skip it. Snackbars are for errors, important feedback, and undo actions.
Keep Composables lightweight — render state, send actions, observe events. Heavy work belongs in ViewModels or Logics.
Remove Starter demo content: Welcome Screen, Starter File Manager demo, sample placeholder screens, unused demo resources. Keep the infrastructure; remove only demo content.

Kmp Starter Core Rules fits situations like: tasks that involve Project scaffolding.
Run `npx skills add DevAtrii/Kmp-Starter-Template --skill kmp-starter-core-rules -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/kmp-starter/core-rules in DevAtrii/Kmp-Starter-Template) into .claude/skills/kmp-starter-core-rules in your project. Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add DevAtrii/Kmp-Starter-Template --skill kmp-starter-core-rules -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/kmp-starter-core-rules, .gemini/skills/kmp-starter-core-rules, .github/skills/kmp-starter-core-rules and .opencode/skills/kmp-starter-core-rules in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Kmp Starter Core Rules is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: starter.atherio.dev; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Kmp Starter Core Rules is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 574 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
