What it does

Hk Arch Audit is an agent skill from deepklarity/harness-kit. Run comprehensive agent-native architecture review with scored principles. Audits a codebase against 8 agent-native architecture principles (Action Parity, Tools as Primitives, Context Injection, Shared Workspace, CRUD Completeness, UI Integration, Capability Discovery, Prompt-Native Features) by launching parallel sub-agents and producing a scored report. Use when the user wants to evaluate how agent-friendly their architecture is, or audit specific principles. Triggers on: 'agent native audit', 'architecture…

Its SKILL.md is about 1.1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/agent-prompts.md`).

It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Subagents and Software architecture. The repository describes itself as: A kit for building with AI agents and also the engineering patterns around it. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • The user wants to evaluate how agent-friendly their architecture is
  • Audit specific principles
  • : agent native audit
  • Architecture review

Example prompts

  • “agent native audit”
  • “architecture review”
  • “how agent-friendly is this”
  • “/hk-arch-audit”

Requirements

  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Bash, Read, Grep, Glob, Task

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Load reference material
  2. Check for single-principle audit
  3. Launch parallel sub-agents
  4. Compile summary report

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 87305cd. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Bash
    • Read
    • Grep
    • Glob
    • Task

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are markdown).

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Hk Arch Audit loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 147 tokens; SKILL.md has 385 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~147
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.1k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~2.5k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check: notes

The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.

  • NotePre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: Bash)SKILL.md
allowed-tools: Bash, Read, Grep, Glob, Task

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

/hk-arch-audit — Agent-Native Architecture Review

Conducts a comprehensive review of the codebase against agent-native architecture principles, launching parallel sub-agents for each principle and producing a scored report.

Context

<audit_context> $ARGUMENTS </audit_context>

Core Principles

#PrincipleOne-liner
1Action ParityWhatever the user can do, the agent can do
2Tools as PrimitivesTools provide capability, not behavior
3Context InjectionSystem prompt includes dynamic context about app state
4Shared WorkspaceAgent and user work in the same data space
5CRUD CompletenessEvery entity has full Create, Read, Update, Delete
6UI IntegrationAgent actions immediately reflected in UI
7Capability DiscoveryUsers can discover what the agent can do
8Prompt-Native FeaturesFeatures are prompts defining outcomes, not code

Workflow

Step 1: Load reference material

Read references/agent-prompts.md in this skill's directory to get the detailed prompt for each sub-agent. That file contains the exact instructions, search strategies, and output format for all 8 principle audits.

Step 2: Check for single-principle audit

If $ARGUMENTS specifies a single principle, only run that one sub-agent. Valid argument forms:

ArgumentPrinciple
action parity or 1Action Parity
tools or primitives or 2Tools as Primitives
context or injection or 3Context Injection
shared or workspace or 4Shared Workspace
crud or 5CRUD Completeness
ui or integration or 6UI Integration
discovery or 7Capability Discovery
prompt or features or 8Prompt-Native Features

For single-principle audits, run one Explore sub-agent and present its findings directly — no summary table needed.

Show full SKILL.md (140 more words)Show less
Step 3: Launch parallel sub-agents

Launch 8 parallel sub-agents using the Task tool with subagent_type: Explore, one per principle. Each agent should:

  1. Enumerate all relevant instances in the codebase (user actions, tools, contexts, data stores, etc.)
  2. Check compliance against the principle
  3. Provide a specific score in X out of Y (percentage%) format
  4. List specific gaps and recommendations

Read references/agent-prompts.md for the exact prompt to give each agent. Pass the full agent prompt from that file — don't summarize it.

Step 4: Compile summary report

After all agents complete, compile the summary using this template:
