larp-detectorSkeptical review of outside contributions to public repos. An agent skill from davidondrej/skills.
Larp Detector is an agent skill from davidondrej/skills. Skeptical review of outside contributions to public repos. Use when reviewing, ranking, or replying to public GitHub pull requests or issues from outside contributors, or when the user says "larp-detector".
Its SKILL.md is about 470 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Development, covering Pull requests. It works with GitHub. The repository describes itself as: access to david ondrej's personal agent skills. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 7874889. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Larp Detector loads about 465 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 55 tokens; SKILL.md has 290 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from davidondrej/skills at commit 7874889, republished under its MIT licence (© davidondrej). 290 words, ~465 tokens.
.claude/skills/larp-detector/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). When reviewing this code, be careful. A lot of people on public repos just use an AI coding agent to contribute to a codebase, only for the sake of their name being on the contributors list. They also have no taste and no product feel. They're not trying to fix any real issue, any real problem, or any real bug. They literally just want to contribute.
Another common thing they do is use an AI coding agent to analyze the repo for issues, problems, and security vulnerabilities. Even if our code is good, LLMs will hallucinate hypothetical issues that would really never happen.
So be careful when reviewing this. Check that it is actually a good idea, and think about the intention of the creator. What is the intention? Did they actually face a problem and then tell their coding agent to fix it? Everybody uses AI coding agents, so that alone is not a red flag.
Really try to figure out the intention and the origin of this PR, issue, or whatever you are reviewing:
Be careful. A lot of the code you're going to review is complete nonsense. It's created by people who have no product taste, are not technical, and just tell an AI coding agent to contribute something for the sake of contributing something.

Larp Detector fits situations like: replying to public GitHub pull requests; issues from outside contributors; the user says larp-detector.
Run `npx skills add davidondrej/skills --skill larp-detector -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/agent-orchestration/larp-detector in davidondrej/skills) into .claude/skills/larp-detector in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add davidondrej/skills --skill larp-detector -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/agent-orchestration/larp-detector in davidondrej/skills) into .agents/skills/larp-detector in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add davidondrej/skills --skill larp-detector -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/larp-detector, .gemini/skills/larp-detector, .github/skills/larp-detector and .opencode/skills/larp-detector in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Larp Detector is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Larp Detector is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 465 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.9k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
