ops-speedupCross-platform, hardware-adaptive system optimizer. An agent skill from davepoon/buildwithclaude.
Ops Speedup is an agent skill from davepoon/buildwithclaude. Cross-platform, hardware-adaptive system optimizer. Auto-detects macOS / Linux / WSL / Windows (MINGW/Cygwin/MSYS2) and CPU/RAM/disk/GPU profile, then picks the right cleanup strategy. Scans reclaimable disk space, memory pressure, runaway processes, startup bloat, network issues. CleanMyMac built into Claude Code.
Its SKILL.md is about 2.2k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It works with Linux and macOS. The repository describes itself as: A single hub to find Claude Skills, Agents, Commands, Hooks, Plugins, and Marketplace collections to extend Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Agent SDK and OpenClaw. The licence is MIT.
7 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 616deb5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
BashReadGrepGlobAskUserQuestionFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
brewnpmpnpmdockerjqFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use npm, pnpm and docker, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Ops Speedup loads about 2.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 82 tokens; SKILL.md has 574 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: Bash, Read, Grep, Glob, AskUserQuestionAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from davepoon/buildwithclaude at commit 616deb5, republished under its MIT licence (© davepoon). 574 words, ~2,168 tokens.

Top processes are already in the scan JSON (cpu_hogs / power_hogs). Present them in paginated AskUserQuestion calls (max 3 processes + [More...] per page, final page has [Kill selected] + [Skip]).
NEVER kill: kernel_task, launchd, WindowServer, loginwindow, Finder, Dock, systemd, init, shells (bash/zsh/fish), tmux, IDE processes (Cursor/Comet/Code), Claude, node, python, Xcode. The binary's PROTECTED_RE regex blocks these automatically.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Ops Speedup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (brew, npm, pnpm, docker and jq). Our summary lists: Docker. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash, Read, Grep, Glob, AskUserQuestion.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm and docker, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Ops Speedup is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 2.2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 8.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Ops Speedup: Engine Whats New (flutter/flutter, 179k stars), Openclaw Live Updater (openclaw/openclaw, 392k stars), Apple Container Test Runner (RustPython/RustPython, 22k stars) and Native Feel Cross Platform Desktop (yetone/native-feel-skill, 1.9k stars).
