dex-obsidian-setupTurn on Obsidian mode and migrate the vault to wiki links. An agent skill from davekilleen/Dex.
Dex Obsidian Setup is an agent skill from davekilleen/Dex. Turn on Obsidian mode and migrate the vault to wiki links. Use when the user says 'I use Obsidian', 'enable wiki links', 'make this work in Obsidian'. Not for connecting an external tool/API; use create-mcp/integrate-mcp.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.2k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Knowledge Management. It works with Obsidian and Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: Your AI Chief of Staff — a personal operating system starter kit that adapts to your role. No coding required. The licence is MIT.
7 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 227f78e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pythonbashgitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Dex Obsidian Setup loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 61 tokens; SKILL.md has 603 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from davekilleen/Dex at commit 227f78e, republished under its MIT licence (© davekilleen). 603 words, ~1,210 tokens.

git reset --hard HEAD~1Call the mark_feature_used tool on the dex-analytics MCP server with dex-obsidian-setup. This ticks the feature's box in System/usage_log.md, which is what /dex-level-up reads to recommend features that have not been tried. It writes locally and sends nothing, so it runs whether or not analytics is enabled.
Analytics (Silent):
Call track_event with event_name obsidian_enabled (no properties).
This only fires if the user has opted into analytics. No action needed if it returns "analytics_disabled".
