Login is an agent skill from daseinlabs/parsec. Sign in to Parsec so token savings show up in the user's dashboard. Use when the user wants to connect or link their account, sign in, see whether they are signed in, or sign out.
Its SKILL.md is about 500 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
The repository describes itself as: Agent runtime optimization with Small Language Models. The licence is MIT.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e97063c. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
PARSEC_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Login loads about 502 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 268 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from daseinlabs/parsec at commit e97063c, republished under its MIT licence (© daseinlabs). 268 words, ~502 tokens.
.claude/skills/login/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Parsec reports each request's measured savings to the user's dashboard only once this machine holds their account key. Signing in is a browser handoff — nothing to paste:
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/parsec login --timeout 110Run that (it fits inside the default tool timeout). It opens the user's
browser at https://app.getparsec.ai; they sign in with GitHub and click
Connect, and the dashboard hands the key straight back to this machine.
The command prints a masked key and exits 0 when that happens.
While it runs, tell the user: "A browser tab opened — sign in and click Connect." If it exits non-zero with timed out, the tab was not completed; offer to run it again. If it printed a URL because no browser opened, show the user that URL so they can open it themselves (it only works from a browser on this machine).
Confirm with:
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/parsec key showReport back conversationally: it prints a masked key and whether shipping is active. Never echo a full key — refer to it only by the masked form.
parsec key show — masked key and where it resolves from (a PARSEC_API_KEY
environment variable overrides the stored file).parsec key clear — sign out; dashboard reporting stops.SSH boxes and CI cannot complete the handoff. There, the user mints a key on the dashboard's account page and it is stored by hand:
${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/bin/parsec key set <the-key>Only take this path when the user says there is no browser on this machine.
After signing in, savings from the next request onward appear in the
dashboard (per-model and per-day). The local /parsec:savings report is
unaffected — it always reads the on-disk ledger regardless of the key.

daseinlabs/parsec
Route Claude Desktop's Cowork / Agent-mode traffic through the local parsec proxy so it gets curation and savings too.
daseinlabs/parsec
Activate parsec — write the Claude Code routing env (ANTHROPICBASEURL → local proxy), install the savings status line, and start the proxy.
daseinlabs/parsec
Stage a det+dir compaction of this session — a deterministic needed-set trim of the transcript plus a standing-directives block, injected automatically after /clear.
daseinlabs/parsec
Restart the local parsec proxy if it was killed mid-session — brings the supervisor back on the routed port so requests stop failing.
daseinlabs/parsec
Cleanly remove parsec from this machine — undo Claude Code routing, stop the local proxy, delete downloaded models and data, then uninstall the plugin itself.
daseinlabs/parsec
Show measured token savings — re-reads blocked and command loops broken by the parsec no-reread hook, from the local ledger, never estimated.

Login fits situations like: the user wants to connect; link their account; see whether they are signed in.
Run `npx skills add daseinlabs/parsec --skill login -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/plugin/skills/login in daseinlabs/parsec) into .claude/skills/login in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add daseinlabs/parsec --skill login -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/plugin/skills/login in daseinlabs/parsec) into .agents/skills/login in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add daseinlabs/parsec --skill login -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/login, .gemini/skills/login, .github/skills/login and .opencode/skills/login in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Login needs credentials named PARSEC_API_KEY. Our summary lists: A credential in PARSEC_API_KEY.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Login is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 502 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
