What it does

Test Session Security is an agent skill from cyberful/cyberful. Test and audit authenticated session state across cookies, opaque tokens, bearer tokens, refresh tokens, devices, browsers, APIs, and privilege transitions. Use for session fixation, hijacking, rotation, logout, expiry, revocation, concurrent sessions, remember-me, CSRF interaction, token storage, impersonation, and stale-session analysis.

Its SKILL.md is about 920 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 6 other files, including reference files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`, `references/field-heuristics.md` and `references/session-attacks.md`).

It sits in Security, covering Web application vulnerabilities and Session handoff. The repository describes itself as: Cyberful is an open-source AI Red Team for discovering, exploiting, verifying, and remediating vulnerabilities. The licence is AGPL-3.0.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ec598a6. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • cheatsheetseries.owasp.org
    • httpwg.org
    • rfc-editor.org

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Test Session Security loads about 915 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.4k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 91 tokens; SKILL.md has 304 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~91
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~915
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~2.4k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Test Session Security

Model the session as authority that changes over time. Separate session identifier, server-side state, access token, refresh credential, device record, CSRF state, and remembered-login credential.

Map session artifacts

For each artifact record creation, transport, storage, scope, binding, entropy, rotation, expiry, renewal, revocation, logging, and downstream acceptance. Read references/token-cookie-lifecycle.md.

Test authority transitions

Observe identifier and authority before and after login, MFA completion, step-up, password or factor change, account switch, tenant switch, privilege elevation, impersonation start or end, recovery, suspension, logout, and account deletion.

Require rotation where pre-existing knowledge or weaker assurance must not survive. Preserve anonymous cart or preference data by migration into a new session, not by retaining the old authority identifier.

Test expiry and revocation

Check idle and absolute expiry, refresh rotation, reuse detection, server-side invalidation, logout of current and all devices, administrative revocation, credential change, role change, account state change, and long-lived socket or background-job behavior. Compare edge, gateway, service, cache, and offline validation.

Test browser interaction

Check cookie host/domain/path scope, prefixes, Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite, duplicate cookie behavior, subdomain planting, URL tokens, referrer leakage, browser storage, cache behavior, CSRF tokens, cross-origin credential use, framing, and service workers.

Read references/session-attacks.md for attack-path analysis. Use references/field-heuristics.md for duplicate-cookie, rotation, revocation, distributed-state, and long-lived-channel differentials.

Audit implementation

Trace session creation and lookup, randomness, hashing at rest, serialization, rotation, renewal, privilege snapshot, revocation store, cache, cleanup, logging, and error fallbacks. Check whether downstream services validate current authority or trust stale token claims beyond accepted risk.

Confirmation standard

Confirm only when an attacker can plant, predict, steal, replay, retain, or exercise session authority outside its intended identity, client, time, assurance, tenant, or lifecycle state. Distinguish direct token disclosure from ambient browser authority and from a mere cookie-hardening recommendation.

Can I use Test Session Security in Cursor, Gemini CLI or GitHub Copilot?

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add cyberful/cyberful --skill test-session-security -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/test-session-security, .gemini/skills/test-session-security, .github/skills/test-session-security and .opencode/skills/test-session-security in your project.

What does Test Session Security need to run?

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Test Session Security is instructions for the agent only.

Does Test Session Security access the network?

SKILL.md names 3 domains. As links in the text: cheatsheetseries.owasp.org, httpwg.org and rfc-editor.org. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.

Is Test Session Security safe to install?

Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

What licence does Test Session Security use?

Test Session Security is published under the AGPL-3.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.

How many tokens does Test Session Security use?

About 915 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.5k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
