benchsdk-cliInstall, authenticate, and use the unified bench CLI to query and run ComputeSDK benchmarks.
Benchsdk CLI is an agent skill from computesdk/benchmarks. Install, authenticate, and use the unified bench CLI to query and run ComputeSDK benchmarks. Covers device-code OAuth, API keys, config files, and non-interactive/CI use.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Backend & APIs, covering OAuth and OpenID Connect. The repository describes itself as: Compare performance across sandbox, storage, browsers, and ai gateway providers. The licence is MIT.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit bcf2052. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pnpmnodeFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
platform.computesdk.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEYBENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_TOKENFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Benchsdk CLI loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 465 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from computesdk/benchmarks at commit bcf2052, republished under its MIT licence (© computesdk). 465 words, ~1,290 tokens.
.claude/skills/benchsdk-cli/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).bench CLIThe bench binary is the unified CLI for the ComputeSDK benchmarks platform.
bench run executes benchmark files; all other commands query platform data.
The CLI ships with @benchsdk/runner. From the benchmarks repo root:
pnpm install
pnpm -r --filter "./packages/**" buildRun via the built binary:
node packages/benchsdk-runner/dist/bin.cjs --versionOr add packages/benchsdk-runner to your PATH so bench --version works.
The CLI tries credentials in this order:
--api-key <key>BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_TOKEN (a better-auth session token — does not refresh)BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY (an org-scoped bp_... key)~/.benchsdk/credentials.json (from bench auth login)API keys and tokens are useful for non-interactive environments. OAuth is
interactive and stores a refresh token under ~/.benchsdk. At least one
credential is required for any command that touches the platform.
bench auth login --base-url https://platform.computesdk.comThis prints a URL and a user code. Approve the device in the browser; the CLI polls and stores the access/refresh token pair. Access tokens last 1 hour; refresh tokens are 30-day sliding windows and rotate on every refresh.
bench auth status
bench auth status --jsonbench auth logoutThis removes ~/.benchsdk/credentials.json.
~/.benchsdk/config.json stores non-secret defaults:
{
"baseUrl": "https://platform.computesdk.com",
"org": "computesdk",
"format": "table"
}--base-url, --org, and --format override this file. Credentials live in
~/.benchsdk/credentials.json and are created with 0600 file permissions.
bench org list
bench org use computesdkbench org use switches the active organization and rewrites the stored access
token with the new organization claim.
bench benchmarks list
bench benchmarks list --limit 20 --offset 40
bench benchmarks list --jsonbench runs list my-benchmark
bench runs show my-benchmark <runId>bench results my-benchmark
bench results my-benchmark --run <runId>
bench results my-benchmark --format jsonbench artifacts list my-benchmark <runId>
bench artifacts list my-benchmark <runId> --worker <workerId>bench export my-benchmark --out ./exports
bench export my-benchmark --run <runId> --out ./exportsbench run still executes benchmark files via @benchsdk/runner:
bench run path/to/file.bench.ts --iterations 4 --concurrency 2You can also use an org-scoped bp_ key for non-interactive runs:
BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY=bp_... bench run path/to/file.bench.tsSet environment variables so the CLI never tries to open a browser:
export BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_URL=https://platform.computesdk.com
export BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY=bp_...
bench benchmarks list --json --limit 100If no credentials are present, the CLI fails fast with an AuthError.
BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_URL — platform root URL (default: https://platform.computesdk.com)BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY — API keyBENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_TOKEN — bearer/session tokenCI — when set, the CLI avoids interactive prompts--base-url <url> — override the platform URL--api-key <key> — use an API key for this command--org <slug> — override the active organization--format json|table — output format--json — shortcut for --format json--verbose — print stack traces and extra diagnostics on errors--version--help and bench <command> --help0 — success1 — general error or API failure2 — authentication errorbench --version shows 0.0.0 — the dist/ output is stale or the
package.json was not found. Rebuild with pnpm --filter @benchsdk/cli build.Cannot find module .../dist/bin.cjs — build @benchsdk/runner first:
pnpm --filter @benchsdk/runner build.Your session has expired — the refresh token is expired or revoked. Run
bench auth login again, or use BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY.bench auth status or
pass --org <slug>.None for local development with BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY if one is
provided. For OAuth login in CI, prefer BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY or
BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_TOKEN instead of bench auth login.

Benchsdk CLI fits situations like: tasks that involve OAuth and OpenID Connect.
Run `npx skills add computesdk/benchmarks --skill benchsdk-cli -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/benchsdk-cli in computesdk/benchmarks) into .claude/skills/benchsdk-cli in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add computesdk/benchmarks --skill benchsdk-cli -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.agents/skills/benchsdk-cli in computesdk/benchmarks) into .agents/skills/benchsdk-cli in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add computesdk/benchmarks --skill benchsdk-cli -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/benchsdk-cli, .gemini/skills/benchsdk-cli, .github/skills/benchsdk-cli and .opencode/skills/benchsdk-cli in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Benchsdk CLI needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pnpm and node) and credentials named BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY and BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_TOKEN. Our summary lists: A credential in BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_TOKEN; A credential in BENCHMARKS_PLATFORM_API_KEY.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: platform.computesdk.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Benchsdk CLI is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Benchsdk CLI: Fortify Development (coollabsio/coolify, 63k stars), Antipattern Prevention (doorkeeper-gem/doorkeeper, 5.5k stars), OmniRoute Provider Management (diegosouzapw/OmniRoute, 74k stars) and Stripe Best Practices (kanchengw/cnllm, 175 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
