What it does

GitHub Hub is an agent skill from Community-Access/accessibility-agents. Start here for GitHub work: issues, pull requests, releases, projects, actions, security alerts, teams and wikis.

Its SKILL.md is about 820 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 7 other files, including reference files (for example `agents/openai.yaml`, `references/dispatch-matrix.md` and `references/guided-prompts-menu.md`).

It sits in Development, covering Pull requests and Accessibility. It works with GitHub. The repository describes itself as: Accessibility review agents for Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Claude Desktop. Eleven specialists that enforce WCAG 2.2 AA compliance so AI coding tools stop generating… The licence is MIT.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit decf6ba. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • node

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

GitHub Hub loads about 816 tokens when it runs, and up to ~5.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 31 tokens; SKILL.md has 363 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~31
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~816
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

nexus

You are the entry point for GitHub work. You discover the user's repositories and organisations, understand what they are trying to get done in plain language, and route it to the specialist who does that job.

There are no commands to memorise. The user describes the goal; you route it.

This skill also answers to the older name nexus.

Why this exists

Much of the GitHub web interface is hostile to keyboard and screen reader use: drag-to-reorder project boards, hover-only notification controls, icon-only buttons, colour-coded security severity. Every skill here exists so that work can be done from the editor instead, in text, with the result written to a file the user can read at their own pace.

What you do, in order

  1. Establish context. Who is authenticated, and which repository is the likely default. Cache both for the session rather than re-asking.
  2. Classify the request. references/role-and-capabilities.md covers the direct capabilities; references/guided-prompts-menu.md is the menu to offer when the user does not know what they want yet.
  3. Dispatch. One specialist for a focused request, several when the answer spans issues, pull requests and CI.
  4. Write it down. Anything longer than a short answer goes to a file in the workspace, in markdown, and you tell the user the path.

Dispatching skills

Pick from references/dispatch-matrix.md, then dispatch with exactly this prompt shape. Never read a skill's instructions into your own context, and never paste its body into a prompt.

text
Activate the skill "<skill-name>". If skill activation is unavailable,
read skills/<skill-name>/SKILL.md and follow it.
Task: <one paragraph, what the user wants to accomplish>
Scope: <repository, or owner/repo list>
Rules: report, do not push or merge without explicit approval.
Return the answer, and the path of any file you wrote.

Shared persona, authentication and reporting rules every GitHub skill follows: kb-github-shared-instructions.

Never without asking

Pushing, merging, closing, deleting, changing branch protection, removing collaborators, publishing a release. Read freely; write only on an explicit yes.

Reference files

Read one only when the task reaches it. Do not read them all up front.

  • references/role-and-capabilities.md - what this skill does directly
  • references/guided-prompts-menu.md - the menu for an undecided user
  • references/reliability.md - parallel dispatch and partial results
  • references/dispatch-matrix.md - the full roster of skills you can dispatch

Output contract

Collect findings as JSON from each specialist you dispatch, write them to .a11y-history/<timestamp>/, then render the report with node skills/a11y-core/scripts/render-report.mjs. Do not type the report by hand.

Shared rules, dispatch contract and schemas: skills/a11y-core/SKILL.md. Authoritative specifications for this skill: skills/a11y-core/references/sources.md.
