fluent-iconsLooks up Microsoft Fluent UI System Icons and their exact @fluentui/react-icons component names through the Fluent Icons MCP server or HTTP API, instead of guessing.
The skill stops the agent from inventing icon names such as UserLock24Regular, which often do not exist, by querying Fluent Icons for names that are guaranteed to. With the fluent-icons MCP server connected, it searches by meaning, asks for a recommended set when several icons belong in one interface so they share a style and size, and checks which other sizes and styles exist or fetches code for other platforms.
Without MCP it calls the JSON HTTP API with curl, no key needed, to search, fetch an icon and get its code for a given platform, style and size. The rules say to search by meaning, to use the react component and import values from the response exactly, to keep one style (regular or filled) and one size, usually 20 or 24, across a UI, never to build a name for a size or style the response does not list, and to try a more literal word or find_similar_icons when nothing fits.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a67a9a3. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Fluent Icons Lookup loads about 492 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 49 tokens; SKILL.md has 176 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 176 words (~492 tokens).

Fluent Icons Lookup fits situations like: adding a Fluent UI icon to a React component; picking a consistent set of icons for navigation, menus or tabs; swapping an icon without guessing its component name.
Run `npx skills add coltongriffith/fluenticons --skill fluent-icons -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (public/ai in coltongriffith/fluenticons) into .claude/skills/fluent-icons in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add coltongriffith/fluenticons --skill fluent-icons -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (public/ai in coltongriffith/fluenticons) into .agents/skills/fluent-icons in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add coltongriffith/fluenticons --skill fluent-icons -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/fluent-icons, .gemini/skills/fluent-icons, .github/skills/fluent-icons and .opencode/skills/fluent-icons in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Fluent Icons Lookup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (curl and claude). Our summary lists: Network access to fluenticons.co; The fluent-icons MCP server, optional.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: fluenticons.co; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Fluent Icons Lookup or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 492 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Fluent Icons Lookup: Wonder Blocks (Khan/wonder-blocks, 163 stars), Bmm Iconify Icons (Y80/bmm, 344 stars), Design Review (pproenca/dot-skills, 215 stars) and React Devtools MCP (sanity-io/ui, 176 stars).
