What it does

Piv Run Full Loop is an agent skill from coleam00/skills. Autonomously develops a complete feature from priming through planning, execution, and commit by chaining the four core PIV-loop skills. Use when you want a full hands-off feature build from a single description.

Its SKILL.md is about 520 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Planning. The repository describes itself as: The agent skills I actually use to build software with coding agents. The PIV loop, planning, worktrees, and the meta-skills for building your own AI Layer. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • You want a full hands-off feature build from a single description
  • Tasks that involve Planning

Example prompts

  • “/piv-run-full-loop”

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Prime - Load Codebase Context
  2. Planning - Create Implementation Plan
  3. Execute - Implement the Feature
  4. Commit - Save Changes

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 847be08. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • git

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Piv Run Full Loop loads about 518 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 58 tokens; SKILL.md has 204 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~58
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~518

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

End-to-End Feature Development

Feature Description: $ARGUMENTS

This skill chains the 4 core PIV-loop skills for autonomous feature development.

Step 1: Prime - Load Codebase Context

Execute the priming workflow to understand the codebase.

Run the prime-codebase skill (.claude/skills/prime-codebase/SKILL.md).

Step 2: Planning - Create Implementation Plan

Create a detailed implementation plan for the feature.

Run the piv-plan-implementation skill (.claude/skills/piv-plan-implementation/SKILL.md) with the feature description: $ARGUMENTS.

IMPORTANT: Note the feature name (and plan file path) that the planning step creates. You'll need it for the next step.

Step 3: Execute - Implement the Feature

Implement the feature from the plan document.

Run the piv-implement skill (.claude/skills/piv-implement/SKILL.md) with the plan file path: .claude/plans/[feature-name].md.

(Use the feature name from Step 2.)

Step 4: Commit - Save Changes

Create a git commit for all changes.

Run the piv-commit skill (.claude/skills/piv-commit/SKILL.md).
