core-componentsReference for building UI with a token-based core component library: spacing, color and typography tokens, Box, stacks, Text, Button, Input and Card, plus layout patterns.
The skill tells the agent to use components from the core library instead of raw platform components, and never to hard-code values but always to use design tokens. Spacing tokens run from $1 up to $8, semantic color tokens name roles such as primary, secondary and tertiary text, the brand color and error or success status, and typography tokens give a size scale from xs to 2xl.
The documented components are Box, a base layout element that accepts token props, HStack and VStack for horizontal and vertical flex layouts, Text, Button with solid, outline, ghost and link variants, Input with validation, and Card with header and content parts. Layout patterns show a screen with a header and a form built from a VStack of inputs. The examples are written in TSX.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a95518f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Core Component Library Patterns loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 37 tokens; SKILL.md has 176 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 176 words (~1,199 tokens).
“Use components from your core library instead of raw platform components. This ensures consistent styling and behavior.”

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add ChrisWiles/claude-code-showcase --skill core-components -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/core-components, .gemini/skills/core-components, .github/skills/core-components and .opencode/skills/core-components in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Core Component Library Patterns is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Core Component Library Patterns or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 1.2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
