moot-courtChinese-language skill that organizes a case file into a multi-role mock trial with judge, parties and clerk, producing a transcript, issue review and a to-strengthen list.
This skill turns existing case materials into a sourced, respondable, reviewable mock trial. The main agent doubles as scheduler and clerk and dispatches separate judge and party-side agents; subagents never message each other directly, and nothing resumes automatically once the main session ends. It first reads intake guidance to pull case type, jurisdiction, instance level, your side, claims or charges, and the material scope and time budget from context, asking only about gaps that would change the role setup or scope.
Civil cases default to judge, plaintiff and defendant roles; criminal cases to judge, prosecution and defense; each follows its own hearing reference. A clerk script (Python 3.9+, standard library only) starts a hearing run from a materials manifest, keeping public materials apart from each side's private ones; a party sees the public record and filed statements, never the other side's private strategy, and the judge gets no private material either. Formal turns follow a dispatch, hand-off, submit and commit cycle where only the clerk commits to the record, and the three-role setup names where it omits witnesses or experts. It is not for a verdict, legal advice, or drama without a case file.

Moot Court Simulation Builder loads about 1.4k tokens when it runs, and up to ~24k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 38 tokens; SKILL.md has 204 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Its licence (CC-BY-NC-4.0) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 204 words (~1,356 tokens).
“将现有材料组织成一次有来源、有回应、可复盘的模拟庭审。默认由主 Agent 兼任调度员与书记员,分派独立的法官和双方角色 Agent。无需 Subagent 相互发消息:主 Agent 收稿、入卷,再派发下一发言。文件不自行唤醒 Agent,主会话结束后不会自动继续。”

Moot Court Simulation Builder fits situations like: rehearsing a civil or criminal case argument before a real hearing; running a mock cross-examination to find weak points in a case; producing an issue-by-issue review and a list of evidence gaps to strengthen.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add cat-xierluo/legal-skills --skill moot-court -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Moot Court Simulation Builder needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python3 and brew). Our summary lists: Python 3.9 or newer with only the standard library; A case materials file (manifest plus public and private documents).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Moot Court Simulation Builder is published under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 licence (declared in SKILL.md).
About 1.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 23k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
