burla-deep-diveReference for Burla internals: how a remote_parallel_map job flows between services, how clusters and nodes are managed, and where the head keeps its state.
This skill is a map to three self-contained reference files for people editing or debugging the Burla repository. job-lifecycle.md follows a remote_parallel_map call from client-side pickling through the job start endpoint on main_service, input upload, worker assignment with Python version matching, the TCP command protocol to worker_server.py, the job_watcher loop, node-to-node input stealing and cancellation.
cluster-operations.md covers restart and shutdown endpoints, the mid-job grow path, how main_service boots node VMs through providers for GCE, EC2 and local Docker, the node state machine (BOOTING, READY, RUNNING, FAILED), reservations and each node's inactivity-shutdown watchdog. head-state.md explains where state lives since Firestore was removed in 1.6.0: the cluster_state NODES and JOBS dicts, the SQLite history store, the node-to-head state push, the client-liveness quorum and the status vocabulary.
A set of core invariants is listed so edits do not break them, starting with one cluster per project and one head main_service per cluster. The head is a singleton always-on VM, or one container in local development, and live cluster state exists only in its memory, with SQLite history as the only persistence.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 76437b1. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
makeFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
CLUSTER_ID_TOKENFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Burla Internals Deep Dive loads about 2.4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 119 tokens; SKILL.md has 850 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 850 words (~2,405 tokens).

github/gh-aw-firewall
Practical Python scripts for debugging awf - parse logs, diagnose issues, inspect containers, test domains
Edwardvaneechoud/Flowfile
Maps Flowfile's core, worker, frontend, kernel, scheduler and shared services and the design contracts between them, for onboarding and cross-service debugging.
weave-os/router
Shows when to answer a code question through a real language server instead of grep, covering definitions, references, hover, outlines, and errors.
Edwardvaneechoud/Flowfile
Recreates every Flowfile development and build environment from scratch, with exact version pins and an explanation of what each Makefile target really does.
Burla-Cloud/burla
Sets up an isolated Burla dev cluster per git worktree so several agents can work in parallel, and explains when to use local-dev or remote-dev.

Burla Internals Deep Dive fits situations like: debugging cross-service behavior in the Burla repository; tracing how a job moves between client, main_service, node_service and worker_server; answering detailed questions about cluster boot, grow or shutdown behavior.
Run `npx skills add Burla-Cloud/burla --skill burla-deep-dive -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.cursor/skills/burla-deep-dive in Burla-Cloud/burla) into .claude/skills/burla-deep-dive in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Burla-Cloud/burla --skill burla-deep-dive -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/burla-deep-dive, .gemini/skills/burla-deep-dive, .github/skills/burla-deep-dive and .opencode/skills/burla-deep-dive in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Burla Internals Deep Dive needs the command-line tools its instructions call (make) and credentials named CLUSTER_ID_TOKEN. Our summary lists: A checkout of the Burla repository.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Burla Internals Deep Dive has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 9.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
