surfRoutes crypto market, on-chain, wallet and prediction-market lookups to the Surf data API through a local ClawRouter, paid per call.
This skill points the agent at Surf, a paid crypto-data HTTP API that ClawRouter exposes on the local machine at port 8402 under /v1/surf/. It lists 83 endpoints across 12 domains: centralized and decentralized exchange markets, SQL over more than 80 on-chain ClickHouse tables on chains such as Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, BSC, TRON, HyperEVM and Tempo, a set of over 100M labeled wallets, Polymarket and Kalshi prediction markets, social and news feeds, project and DeFi metrics, token analytics, search and venture fund data.
Calls go through the local ClawRouter instead of the browser or a web fetch tool. Each request is paid for with an x402 USDC micropayment from the local wallet, or from BlockRun account credit when an API key is configured, and no Surf account or Surf API key is needed. The skill quotes a flat per-call price of $0.0075 on the API-key rail and on Solana and $0.0085 on Base, and says a 402 quote from the wallet rail overrides its own table if the two disagree.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit a7a9b3c. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Surf Crypto Data API loads about 1.7k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 102 tokens; SKILL.md has 537 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/surf/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Surf (asksurf.ai) is no longer served through BlockRun. Since 2026-09-06 the
gateway answers every /v1/surf/* path with:
HTTP 410

sol.blockrun.ai answers 404 on the same paths, and /api/openapi no longer
lists any Surf route. No 402 is ever issued, so no payment can be made.
blockrun_surf was removed from the server in 0.49.0 and is no longer one of
the <!-- br:mcp.tools -->19<!-- /br:mcp.tools --> tools: a tool that can only
return an error is not worth the schema every agent carries on every turn. An
MCP client will answer an unknown-tool error if a config still names it. Nothing
can be charged either way. Do not describe this as a temporary outage — it is
not; route the question with the table below.

Surf Crypto Data API fits situations like: pulling centralized or decentralized exchange market data for a token; running SQL against on-chain tables for a chain such as Base or Ethereum; checking Polymarket or Kalshi prediction-market prices; researching wallet labels, DeFi project metrics or venture fund activity.
Run `npx skills add BlockRunAI/blockrun-mcp --skill surf -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/surf in BlockRunAI/blockrun-mcp) into .claude/skills/surf in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add BlockRunAI/blockrun-mcp --skill surf -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/surf in BlockRunAI/blockrun-mcp) into .agents/skills/surf in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add BlockRunAI/blockrun-mcp --skill surf -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/surf, .gemini/skills/surf, .github/skills/surf and .opencode/skills/surf in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Surf Crypto Data API needs the command-line tools its instructions call (curl). Our summary lists: ClawRouter running locally on port 8402; A local wallet holding USDC for x402 payments, or a BlockRun API key.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: blockrun.ai; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Surf Crypto Data API is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
