Youtube Srt is an agent skill from BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard. Download YouTube subtitles (SRT + timestamped TXT) for a channel, playlist or video via yt-dlp, no media download; optionally mine them into a categorized catalog (e.g. AI models by function, open weights, local runnability, hardware tier). Use on "download the srt of this video", "transcripts of channel X for the last N months", "catalog the models AI Search talked about", "update docs/models".
Its SKILL.md is about 1.2k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 3 other files, including scripts (for example `scripts/build-catalog.py` and `scripts/yt-srt.sh`).
It sits in Media & Creative, covering Transcription and Video and podcast notes. It works with YouTube. The repository describes itself as: Real-time web dashboard for pi coding-agent sessions. Multi-session view, live chat mirroring, integrated terminal, diff viewer, pi-flows execution, and mobile-first remote… The licence is MIT.
2 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 7a2d171. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 2 files in scripts/ (Python and Shell), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Youtube Srt loads about 1.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 103 tokens; SKILL.md has 497 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

Idempotent: .archive.txt skips fetched IDs; IDs whose subtitles failed (HTTP 429) are removed
from the archive and the script prints WARN: N video(s) without subtitles → just rerun later.

Youtube Srt fits situations like: tasks that involve Transcription; tasks that involve Video and podcast notes.
Run `npx skills add BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard --skill youtube-srt -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/video-transcription/.pi/skills/youtube-srt in BlackBeltTechnology/pi-agent-dashboard) into .claude/skills/youtube-srt in your project. Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Youtube Srt needs Python and a shell for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (pipx and python3). Our summary lists: Python 3; A Bash shell.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: youtube.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Youtube Srt is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
